About this property

Nicely Renovated. In The Heart of Kailua-Kona, Just Steps From the Ocean.

Hawai’i is open and Kona is more beautiful than ever. We are using CDC cleaning guidelines. Our place has cleaned ductwork AND repaired and wonderfully cool AC. We have purchased new clothes washer and refrigerator. All we are missing is you! 2 Bedrooms and 2Bathrooms, means you and you friends or family will have comfort and privacy. (Sleeps 2-4) Almost everything in this condo is new. The beds are queens, one is pillow top and one is firm and are equipped with luxury high thread count linens. The couch is a queen foldout. There are two full bathrooms, one with a bathtub, for the convenience of your guests. This Condo has a fully equipped kitchen. There are two BBQ decks for grilling. We have snorkeling masks, fins and other beach equipment.
The lanai has a partial view of Kailua Bay and Kona town. The east bedroom has a window with a gorgeous view of Hualalai mountain, if you are an early riser. Great location near the ocean side of the condo but away from the noise of the nightclub/restaurant. One minute walk to the ocean where you can snorkel, fish, surf or swim.
Kona is a paradise for walkers/hikers. You can walk old airport beach and there is a Keiki (kids)swim beach nearby. Every morning you can walk down to the Pier or to several areas where the locals surf. The swim area used for the Ironman Triathlon is right across the street where you can swim the same route they do or just paddle around and look at the fish. SUP is popular and rentable near the pier. The Ahu’ena Heiau of King Kamehameha is on the other side of the Pier and looks as it did when the missionaries first arrived on this Island. There is a recreational and safe beach there also.
The site of this condo is right on the routes of Independence Day and Kamehameha’s birthday parades. It is front and center for the start and finish of the Ironman championship. There are street fairs and musical performances are common on the grounds of the Palace. The Kailua Bay is where King Kamehameha and other Hawaiian royalty chose to retire. You may want to too. In the morning you can see spinner dolphins offshore, and a little bit later you can watch the deep sea fishermen offload, or the cruise ship set off. If you want more civilized activities, the restaurants and clubs are outstanding. The old palace is right across the street where they offer native arts and music as well as tours. You are next door to the first church built in the Hawaiian islands, a beautiful lava stone structure with Koa wood interior. After touring, there is a cooling salt water pool on grounds and covered, secured parking.

The Big island is the best for active vacationers. It has everything from a live volcano to an active truck and rodeo crowd. You can beach bum, snorkel, scuba or zipline and ride horses. You can even go hunting here, deep sea fish, watch the stars from a huge telescope and snow ski down a volcano. The Big Island can be your paradise.

Oustanding location, easy check in and the best host!
Patricia is a super host for a reason, she kept in touch with me, provided very clear check in instructions and I really enjoyed the condo and the location. The pool needs to be cleaned but that is not on the host or related to the condo. I felt safe in the building and in using the walkway from the parking garage to the shopping and the ocean. I highly recommend this condo. The location is awesome, close to everything.

Great base for a Kona vacation
Property was exactly as described. Was very well stocked with dishes / cutlery / cookware. as well as some essential cooking items like butter, spices, condiments. There was also a good stock of toiletries and laundry pods. Lots of beach gear too, we made good use of beach towels and boogie boards. The size of the lanai was impressive - plenty of room to eat, stretch, lie beach wear out to dry. Parking was a breeze, no issues accessing the garage. Pool area well kept, and no issues accessing with the security key provided. A/C, laundry machines, all easy to operate. No maintenance issues encountered. Easy access to the main roads by car and by foot, we enjoyed walking both directions along the oceanfront road. For those that need to know, the mattresses are on the soft side. For our kids that was zero impact but the adults in our party prefer a firmer mattress. Would happily stay again if returning to the Big Island. Mahalo!

Perfect location and wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location is so handy to many restaurants and the beach is a short walk away. There's an awesome Safeway store that is within walking distance too (a little uphill walk on the way but an easy walk back). The parking in the basement is great and there are always lots of spots available. The closets in the bedrooms are large and the many hangers were much appreciated. Kitchen has everything you need. The lanai is huge, and we enjoyed eating some meals out there along with sipping cocktails. The air conditioning was much appreciated. The only suggestion I would make is to add a couple beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We ended up renting a couple chairs. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I live in Colorado and love the Big Island because it has mountains just like home. It also reminds me of my Colorado home because it has opportunities for fun social activities as well as natural unspoiled beauty. I love that Hawaii has both mountains and ocean. I like to be active and there are lots of opportunities for adventure. I can snorkle the beautiful tourquoise ocean or watch a live volcano. No where else could you do both on the same day! My place in Kona has great access, but it is also has all the comforts of my own home. I can refresh, relax and cool off here. Owning this home in Kona on the Big Island is a dream come true.

Why they chose this property

I chose this property because its location is ideal for families and active vacationers who want to experience everything they can. This place includes everything I want out of a vacation. The ocean and town activities nearby are great and I appreciate having air conditioned comfort when I return home. Having a condo in town means that sometimes part of the group can go one place and part can go somewhere else. This is great if I want to go shopping while my friends are out trying to catch giant fish. We love to explore the island, but it's fun to start your day talking to locals over coffee at one of the nearby restaurants. I also love the story of King Kamehameha living out his final days here in Kona and all the historical sites that are associated with that time period.

What makes this property unique

Kona Plaza is just steps away from many activities but this condo is also comfortable to come home to after traveling around the island. I love the covered parking, in Kona it is such a convenience!
