About this property

Calmando. Enjoy some of the best oceanfront views Crown Point has to offer.

Calmando is a luxurious waterfront villa nestled between two palm fringed sandy beaches. Located in the quiet area of Crown Point (Spring), it is in walking distance to the beach and a restaurant. It is a short drive to Port Elizabeth where you can enjoy a selection of restaurants, cafes and boutiques.

With over 2200 sq. ft. of living space Calmando is perfect for relaxing and enjoying island life. Upon entering the villa, you will notice there are eastern views from every room.

Calmando has two well sized bedrooms each with a queen bed, en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The full open kitchen offers you Corian counters, a raised breakfast bar and stainless-steel appliances (fridge, convection oven, over the range microwave, gas conventional cooktop).

The eastern facing living room is bordered by large glass doors that fill the space with natural light. The living room opens up to a covered terrace where you can sit and enjoy meals on the teak furniture. There is ample seating and a 40-inch smart tv connected to the internet. The adjacent dining area can accommodate six guests.

The bedrooms, living room, dining area and the covered terrace overlook the picturesque turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sun drenched and inviting the outdoor space has a grill and two picnic tables perfect for relaxing and entertaining. Overlooking the bay there is a deck and an outdoor shower for washing off any sand from your adventure at the beach. Crescent beach is excellent for swimming and snorkeling as it is protected by coral reefs and is perfect for picnics as the palm trees provide shade. The trade winds are strong enough that you can enjoy kite surfing.

Tranquil and picturesque
The views were fantastic and nearby beaches were private and quiet. Property was well maintained. No air conditioning but there was always a good breeze. Kitchen had everything we needed and Edwin was always quick to respond to any of our questions. It was less than a 10 minute ride to Port Elizabeth in our Mule. Cant wait to go back!

Return visit
This is our second visit to Calmando with new friends who have never been to Bequia. Once again we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Calmando is fully equipped, bbq is a great feature, and the location up on the hill looking out over the ocean is spectacular. Because of the elevation there is a constant breeze to keep things cool and the very few bugs we encountered away. Washer and dryer a bonus which means you do not have to bring a ton of clothes and you can dry them in the breeze in no time. We chose to take the walk into town each morning ( 25 minutes ) wear you will find fabulous beaches, restaurants and friendly island residents. Edwin is always available should you have any issues. Sugar Reef is less than a 10 minute walk and the Turtle Sanctuary about 20. 2 years in a row and we will be back.

Fine paradise on a dream island
The beautiful house is located in a very quiet corner of the idyllic island. The view from the terraces or from the rooms of the nearby sea is stunning. The kitchen is well equipped, there is even a great grill and the wing-like arrangement of the bedrooms, each with a bathroom and dressing room, makes a lot of sense. We were able to relax here fantastically.

Bequia Stay
Edwin was very helpful in meeting us at the ferry and having us follow him to the property. It would have been difficult to find in the dark. It is definitely best to have a car to stay here. There are no restaraunts within walking distance. When the person on the drivers license got sick, we could not use our car and it took many calls to get a taxi. If arranged a day ahead it was easier. It cost $21 US each way for two of us to go from the villa to town or princess Margaret beach. The views are beautiful for sunrise and moon rise. Always a breeze which was good because there is no airconditioning. We needed to leave the doors to outside on the bedrooms open all night or it was very stuffy. One of the ceiling fans in the bedroom did not work. There were mosquito nets over the beds which also helped because the no-see-ums were a presence. Furniture is adaquate but dated and not very comfortable. We cooked two meals a day at the villa. there were plenty of pots and pans and everything we needed in the kitchen. Only two burners on the stove were working. The grill was a helpful addition.

Beautiful views!
We loved Bequia and our stay here! The villa was nice and had everything we needed. The views are spectacular! The only drawback for our group was the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms, as it was very hot during our stay. I’m sure it would be fine when it’s a little cooler or breezier. Overall though, our stay was amazing!
