The Brown Bear Vacation Home at Wallowa Lake can sleep up to 10.
We rent by permit and 10 is our max that we can accept in a rental. This is also a perfect rental for smaller groups of 4 to six that enjoy relaxing with plenty of space instead of cramming into one of the smaller cabins around the lake or a motel. We also ask all guests to leave an $90 checkout fee for our cleaning / manager fee.
The Brown Bear Vacation Home is a 2500 square foot home located on the quiet westside of Wallowa Lake on Lakeshore Road. Remodeled in a fun Northstyle lodge decor, you'll find bears and moose galore inside the home and deer roaming the yard outside the home! The house has the charm of a big rambling older lake house with lots of updates.
The marinas are a short drive away for boating and fishing and you can enjoy a lake and forest view right from the decks of the Brown Bear.
The Brown Bear has a master with a king bed and a private bath. Love seat and daybed in the master as well as a unique skylight view of an eagles nest! Bedroom #2 is on the same level as the master and has two twins and a private bath right outside in the hall! The King and Twin Rooms have a living area upstairs also. On the main level, you will find two queen rooms that share a bath. These are great comfy beds and linens as this is our 2nd home and we like comfort! We can sleep eight in beds and have two extra twins for kids in the master, and a futon in the living room and an extra double on the lower laundry level if needed.
The king and 2 queen rooms are very nice and roomy for 2 adults each. The twin is a small room but has the bonus of a private deck ( easily locked off for kids) and a private bath next to it. So if you don't mind a small room with twins there is a benefit to adults having the twin room.
Large kitchen, center island, second sink, coffee bean grinder, large solid oak trestle table seats up to eight with extra seating at the large kitchen island on stools.
Family room on the main level has a huge fireplace and comfy log furnishings! There is a 2nd family room upstairs so you can separate TV or movie viewing if needed. Or just send part of your group to a different area to relax.
Six different decks to enjoy the views of the forest and the treed view of the lake.
Please remember that animals live in the forest. We are sure you will embrace the ospreys, eagles, and other abundant wildlife we ask you to forgive the smaller critters and bugs that we are not do fond of ..we do our best to keep them out of the house but since it is a house in the forest please understand they do show on occasion.
