About Pierre Troestler, owner
We own this house for 31 years. We were attracted by the environment that has remained peaceful in this wonderful historic district. We felt safe to bring up our two boys. Every day, we appreciate the high quality of the environment.
Pierre Troestler, owner purchased this Apartment in 1983
Why Pierre Troestler, owner chose Desjardins
The house dates from the early twentieth century (1920). It has a remarkable fenestration hence its luminosity. The windows open to their full size. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor (14 steps) with a separate entrance. Formerly it was the heart of English middle-class neighborhood. Large trees reign supreme almost century-old home, which makes it comfortable in summer. There are works of art inside and outside the house, creating a unique style.
What makes this Apartment unique
The advantages: ON FOOT: 1. easy accessibility of Old Quebec (not easy to park in Quebec) 2. proximity to many services (restaurants, microbrewery, grocery, convenience store, theater ...) Finally, the romanticism of the places and the dynamism of culture and tourism. There is also a immediate nice neighbor park.

This is a great property, super clean and well stocked, in a great location in old Levis. It has an excellent view of old Quebec and the nearby ferry will take you there for around $4.00. It was a great property to relax in after a day of exploring Quebec city, the apartment has alot of character and we really felt at home there. Communication with the owner was perfect and the check-in process was super smooth. I give this place and the person who runs it my highest recommendation and my thanks.
Thank-you Pierre, it was great.
Fun Old Victorian
The apartment is the top floor of an old Victorian house. Pierre the owner lives down below. He is very nice and accommodating. The beds are like futons and are very hard. We were there during the summer and it gets very hot inside too. The shower is in the bedroom but it’s a great shower. Ultimately the location is excellent for getting into Quebec City on the ferry.
Thank goodness there are still things that never change!
This is the second time staying at Pierre’s. We first stayed 5 years ago, and I can honestly say this time was as just as wonderful. Everything was the same as we could remember. Pierre is an artist, and he has certainly mastered the art of keeping everything in excellent condition.
The house was the perfect size for our family of 4. Little ones shared the room sans shower (in addition to bed, there is a child size cot and a pack and play), and my wife and I took the room with the shower. The shower has excellent water pressure and a stocked shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser on the wall. There is a claw foot tub in the bathroom. It is a bit on the small side but perfect for kid baths. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishware, cutlery, cookware, coffee brewer, toaster, microwave, and full refrigerator/freezer with lots of ice cube trays. The pantry has salt, pepper, sugar, oil, plastic wrap, coffee filters, paper towels, trash bags, and dish detergent. The living room has flat screen TV with HDMI port, VCR/DVD, games, and lots of reading material about the area. Playground next door will earn bonus points from the kids.
Within walking distance of apartment are restaurants, chocolate shop with fabulous ice cream, deli, bakery, and park to run around or sit and look across the St. Lawrence to Québec City. There is an overlook just down the street called Temperance Cross with great views, and if you come in the winter/early spring when the leaves aren’t on the trees, you can see the Chateau Frontenac from the kitchen and living room windows. If you come in the summer, there is no air conditioning. However, Pierre can provide fans. If you need a place to cool off, check out the water fountains near the ferry terminal (Fontaine du Quai Paquet). In addition to the ferry terminal and the fountains, there are bike and walking paths along the river (bikes are included with your stay). Past reviews mentioned the staircase to and from the ferry terminal. Please do not let it deter you. We carried the stroller down the staircase and then took ramp back up the hill. If you don’t want to mess with the stairs, you can take the road. It is more out of the way than the stairs but still doable on foot.
Bottom line: Perfect place to walk around Lévis, take the ferry across to Québec City, or daytrip into the countryside (easy to drive around and there is a spot in the driveway just for your car).
Cute and quaint
We had a wonderful time in Levis. The location was absolutely perfect to do everything we wanted to do I'm Quebec City.
Two retired couples
We had a wonderful three nights in Pierre's home. The location was perfect the short walk to the ferry was easy and if you take your time coming home and enjoy the amazing view across the river to Quebec City the long walk up the hill steps are nothing. The home is old but very clean and lovely and Pierre is a great host. The long steps first up to the house then up the the second floor unit could be a problem for some. The one and only shower in one bedroom is a little unusual and could pose a problem for some but did not cause us any concern.
Thanks Pierre for sharing your home with us, we will be back.
Tasma and friends
In Old Lévis, our Victorian house is on the best street in a quiet, tranquil and awesome beauty.
A variety of activities available to you the most varied and interesting that one of the most beautiful hiking and bicycle trails in north america for 15 km, along the river.
