About this property

Sunny And Dramatic 4 Bed Perfectly Located In Downtown Newport

This is sunny two floor apartment with an open plan and dramatic architecture in the dining area. It's got a bit of the old Victorian "East Lake" feel in the master bed room and is quite modern in other areas. It's a pretty big place that's great for groups and families.

It is one block from the Aquarium / bus depot and one block from Washington square so right at the edge of downtown but still an easy drive in and out. But who wants to drive when all of town is walking distance right out the door! There are numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, the harbor, and cultural things just blocks in every direction.

The Apartment is up one very steep and a second regular flight of stairs - on the 3rd and 4th floor. We just don't want you to be surprised at the steep stairs or the 3rd floor walkup. However once up there you have views of Thames St, the baseball park, and a bit of the harbor and downtown from the skylights and the deck. It's also very sunny with a great breeze and people rarely use the AC, however there are units in all 4 bedrooms and a good mini split that covers the whole main living area.

Free wifi is available through out the apartment and runs off my business class service.

We have a 55" tv in the living room with a Roku where you can sign in to your Netflix, Amazon or Hulu accounts.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a Jenn-air range, ice maker fridge, Keurig, microwave, toaster oven, and dishwasher. There is an extensive set of kitchen utensils, plates and silverware as well.

There is a washer/dryer stack on the 4th floor

The bedrooms are a king and queen on the 3rd floor. On the 4th floor there is a queen bed in one room and the other has two twin XL beds.

We've got two brand new bathrooms and all new furniture in the bedrooms as well as a whole collection of brand new linens and towels including beach towels. We take great care with the linens, rotating through three sets of quality and attractive duvets and sheets.

Over the winter of 2018/19 we are repainted it and it's now a spectacular RED.

We also have free off street parking for 3 cars right along the building.

One of us is usually available to help with information since my business is the photo studio/gallery on the ground floor. Just let us know how we can help!

Perfect for getting ready to go to a family wedding
This property was perfect for getting ready for a Friday afternoon wedding at nearby Belle Mer. Slept 4 adult couples more than comfortably and every one had space to get ready. Breakfast staples were provided and an added bonus. This rental also had games! Super easy for 3 vehicles to park as we all were in and out at various times. We were coming in after work from Boston, and the hosts made sure to accommodate our later check-in. Highly recommended!

Beautiful home, perfect location
This home is in the perfect location for visiting Newport, Rhode Island. We were a group of 8 with everyone from small children to teens to adults - the 4 bedrooms over 2 floors worked out perfectly for us. The place is immaculately clean and comfortable. We were walking distance from the marina, shops, and restaurants, and close driving distance to the bigger beaches and the Cliff Walk. Kate and Sandy had it perfectly arranged for us when we arrived and were available for local advice when we asked. I would happily stay here again.

I grew up in Newport about 1/4 mile from the property. I like to travel and see the world but I love Newport and have always come back home. I'm a photographer and maker of things and have been working out of the studio/gallery on the ground floor since 2000.

Why they chose this property

When I first bought the property in 1998 this unit fascinated me with the creative reimagining of the victorian era interior. They took the live-in attic and turned it into the balcony area overlooking the 3rd floor and something quite magic was created. I've rented it for years and lived in it myself for 3 years but now I saw the chance to completely redo it. It's got brand new bathrooms and a full rehab to make it a one of a kind vacation spot in Newport. I love to toy with design ideas and find ways to display my artwork so of course we have filled the place with as many art and furniture gems as we can find. That part is kind of on going so I'll do my best to keep the photos current.

What makes this property unique

We're right on the edge of the busy section but just before the one way streets completely lock you in. It's easy to get to and easy to get away plus you can walk right over from the bus station. You really do not need a car for this rental.
