A Great Place for a Family Reunion
16 of us (ages 1 yr. to 88 yrs.) spent a fantastic week in August at this big, classic, lake home (with a Chicago style shady background!). Everything from linens and towels, kitchenware and appliances, furniture and lighting, reflects taste and style as well as a priority on beauty and comfort. Details in furnishings, design, and upscale but very comfortable room decor add a sense of grace and luxury without being overbearing or intimidating. There's plenty of space for everyone and everything. We played bocce ball on the lawn overlooking the lake, kayaked, fished (the 4 year old caught a nice sized trout that became part of our hors d'oeuvre spread for dinner that night), took cocktail cruises, swam and just sat around on the front porch catching up. We enjoyed morning walks on the property and on the rural lanes that surround this estate, played pool, read bedtime stories on the porch swing and ate very well from the grill and the superb kitchen. Old parents, new parents, preschoolers, college kids, and babies all voted it one of the best of our vacation-home-renting experiences, and there have been many. Amy has created a wonderful home on Lake Beulah and is a great person to work, with in all the ways I can think of.

Fabulous Old Home
We celebrated my Mom's 70th birthday and Mother's Day at this fabulous home! The home accommodated our family of 17 perfectly. Working with Amy was a pleasure and she ensured that our stay was perfect. The kitchen and dining rooms were ideal for family meals and well stocked. The older grandkids loved the pool table and ping pong table. Fishing from the dock, a polar plunge and flag football on the spacious lawn were highlights. The beauty of the home added special ambiance to a glorious weekend. It was such a joy to spend time in such a grand home. We would rent it again in a heartbeat!

Family Reunion June 2013
This property was ideal for our group of 9 adults and 7 children. The bunk room was perfect for 3 boys ages 10, 8 and 6 (and could have slept more). The rest of the family found cozy accommodations in other rooms on the second and third floors. The second floor family room has a ping pong table, TV, and a great view of Lake Beulah. The kitchen was a joy to work in, and the outdoor grill was used two of the three nights we were there. Everyone's favorite meeting place was the front porch overlooking the lake. This grand, old manse was stocked with everything we needed, including 16 beach towels! Everyone loved this year's family reunion location.

Wonderful Find
This home is truly magnificent. My family rented it for a fall weekend to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday. It is elegant, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The Victorian charm is well maintained with subtle, tasteful modern upgrades. The kitchen is world-class. We prepared prime rib for 14 people with no stress or hassle. We were concerned we’d not have enough to do at a lake house in the fall, but we had plenty. It was beautiful weather, so we were able to go on walks, shop, go to the pumpkin patch and even kayak on the lake. The lake was beautiful and much larger than we had imagined. The massive yard is fun to explore, including peeking into the windows of the barns and milk house. We even saw a fox scurry by. Indoors, the kids took full advantage of the pool table while the adults talked and chatted around the large kitchen island or in the spacious living areas. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. And learning that the home was the vacation estate of Al Capone’s bookkeeper only added to the intrigue. A real find and great base for a wonderful family celebration.

We are an active family of 5 from the North Shore of Chicago.
We love sharing the joys of lake living with our friends and family. The proximity of Lake Beulah to Chicago is one of the many advantages to our home...so close but you feel like you are removed from everything!

Why they chose this property

We loved the historic significance of the expansive property(4 acres) and the proximity to Chicago. The character of the home can not be duplicated and the sunset setting is ideal for unwinding. We loved the idea of a large home that we easily could entertain many people. The spring fed lake is exceptionally clean and the boat traffic is very safe. We found that Lake Beulah is one of the few lakes in SE Wisconsin that has wake rules before 10am and after 6pm on the weekends which enhances the peaceful setting.
