Cockroach Infestation!
I'll try to be fair. When I arrived I had to grab a broom and sweep at least a dozen large cockroaches out the back door. Owner said he'd send pest control then he went silent the rest of my stay. I think pest control came because I only had to sweep about 6 roaches out the door every day after that. There must be some poison hidden somewhere because they tend to be sitting half dead in the middle of the floor. On the plus side the bed is super comfortable, the backyard is nice and the fans (no AC) keep the place from boiling. Kitchen is well equipped and the location is perfect for Mt. Whitney. This was the last place available for my dates and I came to Lone Pine to summit Mt. Whitney - which I did successfully - so it wasn't all bad. The housekeeper, Ruth, is a sweetheart and this isn't her fault. This place needs serious work. It is essentially a small wood framed shack nestled between larger buildings. You've been warned - make an informed choice if this is the place for you.
