I am originally from San Diego and moved to NYC 20 years ago and as much as I love NYC I need a getaway and Maui for me is pure paradise. I rented at the Palms several times and fell in love with the property but was never that happy with the units I rented I think because I usually got carpeted units which I dislike and the entertainment features were old fashioned and I love to spend my evenings at home cooking and enjoying good movie. I am a Hairstylist and photographer in NYC and have a love for the right lighting so you always look your best. Peter Lik is a phographer that has inspired me to capture beautiful landscapes and I print the on fuji flexchrome crystal archive paper which is light sensitive which is why I have everything on dimmers. I also want to say that living in NYC I am exposed to the latest trends and styles. I love hotels like the W because they have a modern but simple way of making life feel new and refreshing and the old Hawaiian style with wicker, floral prints and old Hawaiian art is just so last decade I needed to go contemporary. With 2 nonstop flights to Honolulu from NYC I can only hope that my style will inspire you to stay with me.
Lawrence Daluz purchased this condo in 2012
After looking at alot of units in Kihei I just wasn't happy there, they are much older structures and uninspiring to me while the Palms feels like one of the most luxurious resorts in the world and feel very very inspired and lucky to be an owner here.
Things to do: Sunrise over Haleakala, The road to Hana, Big Makenna beach and Little beach, Snorkeling at Ahi’hi which is just passed Big Beach,
Restaurants I love are Monkey Pod, Pita Paradise (ask for Mike and tell him I sent you), Fancy dinner at Four Seasons Spago and Nicks Fish Market at Fairmont Kea Lani.
Try to visit Paia it’s a great place to hangout and shop and there is an organic market on Baldwin avenue called Mana foods that is amazing.
There is a restaurant passed Paia called Mamas Fish house which is one the top restaurants in the western hemisphere. Just passed Mama’s is an amazing beach called Ho’okipa that is a big windsurfing and surfing beach and there at sunset the turtles come out of the water on to the beach and spend the night so a very cool thing to watch.
The location and gounds of the Palms is unbelievable. Being a New Yorker I don't drive in the city and in Maui the spead limit is usually 30 miles an hour so no stress and the beaches and amazing hotels are minutes away and when driving here the time goes by so fast because of the surreal landscapes you take in everywhere you go.
We have stayed at The Palms of Wailea many times in the past and Lawrence's condo is by far the cleanest, best equipped and nicest decorated unit we have been in.
The location of his condo is perfect for driving to all of the best beaches and snorkelling spots in Kiehi and Wailea and our favorite walking beach Keawakapu.
It is very close to the Pi'ilani Highway (Highway 31) which you can take to cut driving time when going to other parts of the island.
There are many great restaurants and shopping areas very close to the condo. The pool area and grounds at The Palms are amongst the best in Maui. There is even an elevated area above the pool for watching and taking photos of the magnificent Hawaiian sunsets.
Lawrence is a wonderful host who cares about his guests and responded immediately to any inquiries we had during our stay.
We would highly recommend this unit at The Palms of Wailea for your Maui getaway!
Would absolutely stay here again! Unit was beautifully decorated and a very calming environment to relax after a full day enjoying the beach and pool. Close to Wailea shops and we could walk to the best beaches. Another added bonus was the great restaurant on the corner called Manoli's! Thanks for sharing your home with our family Lawrence.
We stayed here for our first time in Maui when we came to get married. The condo is in a great spot, it is clean, comfortable and well equipped. And the owner is great to work with. Lawrence provided great service all around. We would highly recommend this condo and look forward to staying here again next year!
We stayed at this condo for the first time recently for a 14 night stay. Our first impressions were very pleasant, the decor of all the rooms and art give off a very contemporary vibe. The space is comfortable and well laid out, very clean, perfect sized flat screen TV's in both living room and bedroom, and surround sound in the living room. Other amenities include beach gear which we used when visiting the numerous beaches in the area. Our favourite beach was Keawakapu, which is a short walk from the Palms or, if you wish, you can park at the beach as well.
The only drawback was the traffic noise from the nearby intersection (Okolani Drive and Wailea Alumni Drive) which has been mentioned in other reviews. It may be an issue if you are a light sleeper. That said, this did not negatively affect our overall enjoyment of the condo. On the lanai, there is a dining table and 2 comfortable chaise lounges which we enjoyed with a mai tai in late afternoon and a glass of wine at night.
Loved staying here. Beautiful very clean apartment. Pick your beach, multiple are within a 1-2 min drive. Great neighborhood for early morning run to beach. 5 min run/10 min walk away.
We are just wrapping up a 10 night stay at this lovely villa at the Palms. First impressions are very pleasing, the renovation which was done a few years ago is holding up well and the space is comfortable and well laid out. The lighting installation adds tremendously to the decor and beautiful photographs taken by the owner. Perfect sized flat screen TV's in both living room and bedroom, complete with surround sound in the living room. Other amenities include beach gear which we were happy to take advantage when visiting the numerous beaches in the area. One of the best, Keawapatu is very close to the Palms and easy parking in a designated lot.
Some reviewers have mentioned the traffic noise from the nearby intersection. Yes, it can be busy at certain times of the day, but this did not affect our enjoyment of the villa. On the lanai, there are 2 comfortable chaises which I enjoyed with my book and morning coffee and again in later afternoon.
Would we book this villa again? Absolutely. Mahalo Lawrence!
