About this property

Pine Bluff House-Heated Pool, Peace and Privacy now with Solar Energy

Start your vacation relaxation at PineBluff House, a gorgeous solar powered custom home offering privacy and a black pebble tech solar heated pool(weather dependent, no temperature guarantee). Only 25 miles from Yosemite, PineBluff offers visitors excellent access to one of America's greatest treasures. At the same time, the private solar heated pool with fenced in patio will relax and entertain your group if you need a rest day. Or have it all, visit Yosemite in the morning, and return to Pine Bluff for some afternoon and evening swim time next to the BBQ.

PineBluff House is ideally suited for families, but larger groups of adults will have so much fun they might think they brought someone's kids along. The house has been in our family since 1992, and we cherished every moment; we are now excited for you to come and enjoy the peacefulness of PineBluff House and the grandeur of Yosemite.

The Upstairs Master looks out over the pool and surrounding forest. It offers a KING size bed and a FULL size bed, sitting chair, flatscreen TV(with streaming television), 2 closets, and is beautifully accented by a 19th century antique desk from my father's grocery store. It offers a private bathroom with shower, which is stocked with fluffy towels. NEW private heat/AC unit installed(10/17).

The Downstairs Master offers QUEEN size bed with a walk-through closet featuring custom built drawers, leading to a full private bath, equipped with shower and fluffy towels. NEW private heat/AC unit installed(10/17).

The Bunk Room offers TWIN size bunk bed, with trundle style 3rd TWIN size bed which can be pulled out from under the bunk bed. Shelves hold games, books and puzzles aimed to keep your small(or large) ones entertained for hours. Central heat/ac.

The Den offers a QUEEN size leather pullout sofa. It also has a 39 inch flat screen TV equipped with streaming television. A beautiful table with oak chairs is a perfect spot for a game of cards, or a 4 day puzzle project. Central heat/ac.

All King, Queen and Double beds are outfitted with goose down duvet covers. All closets are cedar lined.

There is a gourmet kitchen which is completely stocked with modern cooking and baking tools. The open floor plan with bar style peninsula allows the kitchen to flow past the bright and cheerful dining atrium and into the very spacious living room. The atrium boasts an antique dining table equipped to seat, and feed your party of up to 10. The living room has a couch and two side chairs, a gas powered fire place, and no sleeping accommodations so you can enjoy each other without worrying about someone needing to go to bed.
There is a bluetooth receiver which allows you to play or stream music from your phone or device both indoors and out.

As beautiful as the PineBluff House is on the inside, the true gem of this property is the pebble tech patio surrounding a gorgeous black pebble tech in ground pool. With steps and then depths ranging from 3 1/2 feet to 7 1/2 feet, this pool can breathe life back into even the most weary of travelers. Between the black bottom and recently added solar heater(Sept 2020), the sun's heat is easily transferred to the water extending the swimming season on both ends of a traditional pool season. Pool not available in winter. Depending on your temperature tolerance, and weather, pool swimming season ranges from April-October generally(although I know a few Pacific NW kids who have swam in every month on the calendar!) Several chez-lounge chairs and other deck chairs are available for your basking pleasure. Large umbrellas allow you to choose shade or sun. Covered outdoor dining for 10 can be accommodated pool side to enjoy your favorite BBQ prepared on our Weber gas grill. There are outdoor speakers by the pool. Also on the patio is a solar lit 6 sided table for when it is just too nice to go inside at the end of the day.

There is ample free parking on site.

The PineBluff House is tastefully decorated with natural themed photographs and paintings, many by some of our renowned local artists and neighbors. We truly love the PineBluff House and think you will too.

In only 7 miles, you can be driving along the Wild and Scenic Merced River on your way to Yosemite National Park, where visitors can find peace and solitude in the Wilderness, or shop for historic photographs in Yosemite Village, with opportunities for fishing, hiking, and sight seeing among many other things to be discovered.

Great Yosemite get-away for families with children
We had a great time staying at the Pine Bluff House while visiting Yosemite. The house was in a very beautiful, remote setting, perfect for a peaceful retreat. It was large and very clean inside, and had everything we needed for a wonderful, memorable stay. We hope to be back again for another visit.

Great pad, owner has really set the house up to make our stay as easy and comfortable as can be. Highly recommend this place. The setting is peaceful and very private. Great area for taking long peaceful walks, return to house to cool off with a dip in the heated pool. Thanks for making our weekend stay awesome.

Pool for the win!
It feels like the house is in the middle of nowhere but it really is in a great location to get to Yosemite, if that’s your goal. The hosts leave good notes on visiting the park which we found helpful. The home was comfortable and the WiFi works well, which was nice since we had zero cell service. The individual AC units in the bedrooms was much appreciated as it gets pretty hot. The pool was the winner for sure and we thoroughly enjoyed using it every afternoon/night. We appreciated that the pool/yard area was fenced as it made it easier for our dogs. The mosquitos get real bad in the evening so definitely bring mosquito spray and watch for other little crawlers.

About the host

Hosted by Chuck Carter

Host profile image
Chuck was one of the last true "Park Brats", or local kids who were born in Yosemite Valley at Lewis Memorial Hospital. His parents ran the El Portal Market, a mom and pop grocery store at the entrance to the park, for 42 years. He grew up in El Portal, which lies on the border of Yosemite, where he still lives today with his wife Mimi and their 2 children. He lives just 2 houses away from his beloved childhood home. Chuck has worked in Yosemite for over 2 decades(hint hint, he knows a lot about it). Mimi moved to the Yosemite area in 2008.

Why they chose this property

The Pine Bluff House was purchased by Chuck's parents after moving from El Portal in 1992, and has been a piece of our family ever since. Chuck and Mimi purchased the home from his parents in 2016, when they were looking to downsize and move closer to town(still Mariposa). They are excited for it to be a piece of your families vacation memories again and again.

What makes this property unique

It is one of the most beautiful and relaxing properties in the area. The pool is a unique and welcoming feature. It is a family home and will remain so for decades to come.
