About the property

2 Bedroom, 1 bathroom close to Downtown Square

The Terrace is located in the historic residential area just 2 and a half short blocks from The Historic Downtown Courthouse Square & Whiskey Row. You can reach the owner, Larry Schmidt, at (928)499-9213 to inquire or ask any question regarding his multiple VRBO rental properties. There is a tremendous array of activities at The Square and you are literally only a short 3 to 5 minute walk from The Square and the famous Whiskey Row. Also review The Townhouse, VRBO # 1012557, which is 2 bedrooms and one and a half baths.

The Terrace was professionally decorated with a romantic French theme in mind. When you arrive and walk-out onto The Terrace deck and view Thumb Butte Mountain, immediately all of your stress vanishes!

The outside Terrace Deck is quaint and a fabulous place to relax, barbecue or sit and have a quiet cup of coffee or espresso! Just sit and watch your neighbors stroll the sidewalks of the historic residential area which The Terrace is nestled amongst.

The Terrace is approximately 1,100 square feet with two bedrooms (king size bed in the master bedroom and double bed in the second bedroom), one full bath/shower, large completely stocked kitchen (cook your Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter dinner), nook eating area and living room with new 40' flat screen HDTV, HD cable, and Blu-Ray DVD which enables you to downstream Netflix, since we have high speed WIFI access. The Terrace can easily accommodate two couples or a family of five. Also remember we are pet friendly, so bring the pooch!

Check out our other exceptional properties all within walking distance of downtown! The Townhouse is a sister property, view VRBO # 1012557 for details, and The Cottage, view VRBO # 442389, is a larger rental with approximately 1,550 square feet.

About Larry Schmidt

I moved to the Prescott area in 2007, and after 10 years, I consider myself a true Prescottonian and ambassador of Prescott. I can be reached at (928)499-9213 to discuss any of my VRBO properties. Although I am getting closer to retirement age, I still am employed in sales management, with a fantastic company in Minneapolis, which enables me to work out of the house.

I got into the renting of VRBO properties in 2011, when my first property was only the 50th listing in Prescott, where in today's world there is over 200 listings. Since I travel a lot myself due to my job, I have used VRBO extensively. I look for clean, well managed properties that are close to local activities with a homey feel, as opposed to the clinical feel of a hotel chain. I strive to run and present a VRBO experience that is consistent with what I would be looking for.

Larry Schmidt purchased this bungalow in 2012

Why Larry Schmidt chose Nob Hill

I purchased this property due to its fantastic location to the downtown historic courthouse square. The property has dedicated concrete paved parking perpendicular to the street, in the front, which is very unique for downtown, and the street appeal is outstanding.

The property sits in the historic residential neighborhood, so although it is close to downtown it is quiet.

Also as a personal investment, with the Great Recession, I like many others was disturbed by my lack of ability to avoid the huge crash in my 401K investments. With this property and marketing under VRBO/HomeAway, I can control my own investment, and I enjoy the interaction with my guests. The measure of success is the tremendous amount of repeat business my properties generate, and the friendships that I have made along the way.

What makes this bungalow unique

The uniqueness of this property is the fact that it is like a private home which is so close to all of the activites of the Historic downtown square yet nestled in a quiet well kept neighborhood.

The Terrace was the perfect place to stay while in Prescott. You can walk to downtown and enjoy the redtaurants and shopping. The unit itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and very clean!!

Great place for a Prescott Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend in Prescott at The Terrace! The Terrace had a wonderful patio that we enjoyed and was well equipped. We chose this location due to its location to the Courthouse/Whiskey Row area which is walkable for most and also because it offered a king bed in one of the rooms. It was very clean and decorated nicley. We felt very at home here with our family of four. The owner Larry was wonderful to work with and we would definitely come back again.

Clean, up to date, cozy and great location!!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in Prescott to be central to many of the destinations we wanted to visit in Arizona. The Terrace house was perfect for us. It's in a perfect location, quiet neighborhood but walking distance to many hot spots. Exceeded my expectations for value vs price.

Great home away from home in Prescott

  • 5 of 5

The Terrace is part of a multi-unit VRBO where different portions of the house are separate rentals with their own entrances. The Terrace is upstairs. Our family has used this VRBO previously and this year, one branch of the family rented out the bottom unit and one branch rented out the top unit. The top unit is well laid out in terms of living and cooking space, and care has been taken to make sure renters can make use of the kitchen. I appreciated the variety of pots and pans, spices, coffee and coffee filters, paper towels, etc that were available, so it was not necessary to to go out and get all of these things myself (a real expense and bother I've experienced in other VRBO's!). Such gestures show an attention to detail regarding guests' comfort by the owner that is much appreciated. The bed was quite comfortable and the street was quiet. The town square was within easy walking distance. All in all, a great place to stay! The owner was easy to work with in making arrangements. One thing to consider is that the stairs up to this unit are a bit quirky. Although recently renovated, they vary a bit in height and the steps themselves are shallow so that the foot does not fit entirely on the stair tread. We had no difficulty, but I was quite careful when the 80-year-old plus family members used the stairs.

The star attraction of Prescott is the Historic Downtown Courthouse Square and the famous Whiskey Row. The Courthouse was the original Territorial Capital for Arizona beginning in the 1860s, and Whiskey Row is the site of western saloons and brothels of years past! The Square is the heartbeat of Prescott, where you find a vast variety of boutique and specialty shops, original saloons, locally owned restaurants (including organic only restaurants), local art galleries, museums bars with live music.

In fact virtually every night of the week, you will find at least one bar with live music. On the weekends, you will have a choice of country, classic rock, hard rock, contemporary and jazz music. Starting in the spring going through the early fall, there is musicians during the week at The Square sponsored by the City of Prescott.

Prescott has often been voted one of the top five cities to retire in, but there is a vast array of activities for all ages. Our location easily facilitates day trips to the Grand Canyon of Sedona with its awesome Red Rock vistas. When most people think of Arizona, they think of the hot desert (remember it is dry heat, but over 100 degrees is too hot regardless) and Phoenix or Tucson. But not Prescott, since it is at 5,300 elevation within the Prescott National Forest. Feel the cool summer nights and escape the heat of the desert!!!

Don't forget to come during the fall and winter, since Prescott is a year round destination with four distinct seasons, but with temperate temperatures in both the winter and summer. Some annual seasonal events to remember are as follows:

In April the annual world famous amateur and pro Whiskey Row Off Road Mountain Bike Race

During the first week of July the Oldest Rodeo in North America and Fourth of July Parade around Downtown

For the month of October, Mount Vernon Street (one street east of the property) with its Victorian Homes are totally decked out for Halloween, and our Halloween Eve the street is shut down for the kids and Trick or Treating

Prescott is renowned as the Christmas City of Arizona. The Historic Square is totally decked out with lights and decorations. The first Friday in December is Acker Night, where the Square is closed to traffic, and all of the shops and restaurants/bars have musicians playing. Also there are two separate Christmas parades.

So what are you waiting for, come visit and explore all that Prescott and The Historic Downtown Courthouse Square has to offer.
