This is a sweet suite rental for 4-6 guests in two bedrooms. If you are a larger group, we can also rent the whole property out which has an additional 3 bedrooms upstairs, large living room, dining room, plus 1 1/2 baths and a second full kitchen with dishwasher. This would easily accommodate a family of 12 with plenty of kitchen spaces and room for everyone. For the upstairs, there is a minimum 1 week rental period. Please call for pricing and availability on this option. Take either the suite, main floors, or the whole property. Your choice!

Are you looking for the perfect country getaway, but still want to be close to all the amenities? Then this is the getaway you have been looking for. Nestled on a 5 acre estate, you can relax by the waterfalls and fountain, or work out in the gym or sharpen up your pool skills in the games room. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and full size stove and fridge. The living area has a 46” flat screen TV and DVD player with wifi internet access. Both of the bedrooms feature queen sized beds, full closets and dressers, making your stay comfortable whether it be just for a couple of nights or a couple of weeks. There is even an in-suite washer and dryer. If there are more than 4 guests staying, we can accommodate the additional guests with a new comfy air mattress.

If you prefer the outdoors, the Trans Canada Trail backs right onto the property for biking, hiking or ATV access to other trails. The historic Kinsol Tresstle and Provincial Park are also minutes away by car or bicycle. If you prefer watersports, the lake access and boat ramp are also located very close by. Bring your bike, boat, RV, quad or other toys; we have room to park them all. This is a great base for your year round activities. If you are visiting Shawnigan Lake for the many annual sporting events such as the Half Iron Man, or Half Marathon, this is an ideal location to stay.

We are only 20 minutes from Victoria, and 10 minutes from the Trans Canada Highway. Shawnigan Lake village features coffee shops, various restaurants and many other amenities.

3 night minimum stay, with daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates. Low season rates are currently in effect. Please contact us for specific rates depending on your desired date of stay. We will consider longer term rentals of a number of months in duration. Please enquire for more details. No smoking and no pets please.

The property is wonderful - the owners are welcoming - the home is peaceful and perfect! We were greeted the moment we pulled into the drive. The front of the home has a large patio with tables and chairs and fire pit. It was lovely! The owner walked us to our "home" and we were blown away - it was perfect....cozy...private...modern and well thought out. The view from the home has a waterfall and also a water feature...not to mention the wildlife we had fun watching. Everything we needed was provided. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. Matter of fact - it was all CLEAN! My Mom is known as Mrs. Lysol - she usually goes into a place and sprays it everywhere...not this time - we walked in and she settled right in...not a drop of Lysol at all! :) Wonderful place and owners - we will MOST DEFINITELY be back for another visit SOON! Oh and bonus - the owners left us bottled water and a dozen fresh farm eggs in the brand new fridge.

Great family get-a-way

We have never been to that part of the island and enjoyed our stay very much. It is great for a family because you have a large bathroom, kitchen, and laundry etc. It was nice to have a bit of space for the whole family. We have a little one, so being able to do laundry was very conveniant for us. It was nice to have a quite place to relax after attending a busy event during the day. We would definitely book again.

Beautiful Vancouver Island Location

Our stay with Martyn and family was wonderful. The suite was new, clean, comfortable and very well stocked. The grounds of their home are beautiful, rich with wild life and landscaping. Would definitely stay again!

Country feeling Not too far from City Amenities

The owner Martyn has done a great job of making his HOMESTAY special.

This is the first time we have used homestay and i can say if this is the typical homestay we will come again.

We need to house a wedding group of 5-6 for 3 nights this past June/July 2016.

Some of the unique features of our stay on West side of Shawnigan Lake were in no particular order:

1. African Guard DUCKS - They knock on your door like rosters in the morning (Very Cute and memorable)

2. Generous supply of assorted coffee pods for our 5-6 COFFEE HOUNDS

3. Awesome rear facing pond and stream feature that is light up at night

4. Great games and workout room. I even beat my Son at Pool

Was promptly made welcome and met by owner to open place and give keys for entry. Martyn also was quick to answer by email or phone any concerns or questions we had. Everyone in our group of 6 ranging from 20 - 50 something was impressed.

Summary: I would recommend this homestay and hope to book again. Cheers Ken MCCOLL-VICTORIA. BC.

So Good!

This is the second time we have stayed at Marti's Place. It is VERY quiet and serene with ample space. The suite is clean and very comfortable. We spend both evenings sitting out on the patio looking at the action on the pond. The trail that goes behind the house is especially nice for walks or runs to Shawnigan Lake Park. Truly home away from home

My family stayed with Martyn and Marilyn for a month and half. We were looking for a quiet private home, and we found it.

The suite was fully furnished; it had everything we needed. It was comfortable and very clean. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our hosts were so helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful property.
