We decided to buy this property because after 25 years of travel to various Caribbean Islands, Europe, the Mediterranean, Central America and South America, we always return to the Cayman Islands. This is where we have always felt the safest. We have had some medical emergencies while visiting in the Cayman Islands and have received great local medical care. We are now traveling with our grandchildren. The Cayman Islands provide us a safe, care-free vacation destination . The beach is peaceful and quiet. The scuba diving and snorkeling is fantastic. This portion of the Seven Mile Beach is the nicest and closest to restaurants, shopping and various amenities.
The beautiful view from the enclosed deck and lovely sunset convinced us that Cayman Reef Resort and specifically unit # 35 is the condo to buy. Those long lazy walks on the white sand beach and the tantalizing dips in the warm Caribbean sea, sold us on this home.
We had a wonderful time. This unit was perfect for our little family of 3! Just the right amount of space and steps to the beautiful beach. We rented a car in case we needed it but the location was so prime we hardly used it. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, shops etc. also, wonderful and fast responding owners! Thanks for having us!
PS. Grand Cayman is a true paradise.
This was our 12th trip to GCM and our 4th time staying at CRR in various units. We enjoy the location as we do not rent a car and walk everywhere or use the convenient mini bus system. Everything we need is within walking distance and it is so close to the beautiful Camana Bay area. The grounds are well maintained and the pool is always clean. Sandi, the CRR office manager, is so pleasant and sure knows how to "get things done" when necessary! The owner, Joel, is very responsive and kept in touch during our stay. I know we are in the minority, but we love to cook in for most of our vacation. This unit was very functional, well equipped and met our needs perfectly. We appreciated that the condo was not overly cluttered with excess items, the furniture and bed were comfortable and clean, and appliances/ac worked well. The umbrella shortage situation has always been a concern at CRR, however 10 more were added the last week we were there (condo capacity was extremely high). The only downside of this location is the high beach congestion/noise from Royal Palms Bar next door certain times of the week. We were aware of this and adjusted accordingly. Thank you, Joel and Marie-Anne, for sharing your unit.
Super location, perfect weather,great view.
We had a wonderful stay in Grand Cayman. The condo was steps from the beach and had everything you need. The small electric countertop grill Joel provided worked great. My only con is the sitting area was closed in. Other condos were open or screened in. You had to sit outside the unit to feel like you were outdoors.
Our third time visiting the Cayman Islands and our first stay at Cayman Reef Resort Unit 35. We were on the first floor with a beautiful view of beach. There is no patio to sit outside to have breakfast; not so much of a problem. We took our coffee to beach (literally a 2 minute walk) and enjoyed our breakfast sitting inside looking out. Unit was clean and plenty of towels are supplied along with everything you need in the kitchen to cook, make coffee and fix some drinks for the day. We did have an issue with phone line that I do know that Joel had checked on for us. As this was a holiday weekend the office was closed and I dont think it was followed up with. A little annoying for local calls but we worked around it. TV in the bedroom not working.... again we didnt bother anyone since we only had a 5 day/4 night vacation and didnt mind much about TV. A nice touch would have been a docking station for IPHONE to listen to music. We looked but couldnt find Ironing board. There was one issue that really made us mad at the complex. Our last full day we decided to rent a car, stopped to pick up supplies before heading out for the day. We pulled up to a parking spot that was vacant to drop- off bags (we took about 10 minutes if that). By the time we came out there was a large sticker stuck to our windshield (driver side) as a warning about where to park..... next time we will be towed! After trying to peal off a sticker with 1/2 of it sticking to windshield we looked around for our assigned spot #35 that was a few spaces away from unit. My husband went immediately to office and spoke to Sandy (manager) who stated that was her parking spot!!! OMG... we couldnt believe it. So moral to story, make sure you park in your assigned spot EVEN if you are unloading groceries. The unit itself is perfect and on a great stretch of white sand beach with snorkeling in the area. We would stay again and recommend Cayman Reef Resort to our friends/family.
My husband and I just spent a week at this lovely location. It is one bedroom and one bath and was perfect for the two of us. Everything we needed was there and in good working order. The condo and the complex were clean and well maintained. The best feature was the proximity to Seven Mile Beach. It was just steps away from the beach and convenient to many other attractions on the island. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
Grand Cayman boasts world class scuba diving sites. The Turtle farm and Butterfly farm are located on West Bay Road a short distance from the condo. A water park with wave pool is located near Seven Mile Beach. Sting Ray City is located on North Sound and daily tours are available.
