This private home is in an amazing Ocean Beach (OB) location – steps to the beach with great views and amenities.

This recently remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on the 2nd story level features a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops. All the kitchen appliances and utensils you need for a relaxing vacation including: blender, coffeemaker, toaster oven and full-size oven, 5-burner gas stove and a variety of pots and pans. The kitchen also has a bar-height counter and stools in addition to the dining area table with amazing views of the beach. Watch the sunset as you dine.

The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, vaulted ceiling, and access to an outdoor patio, unique custom bath with tropical tiling, oversized tub and custom shower.

The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both feature tropical décor and queen and full-sized beds, respectively. 4th bedroom is a lockout available upon request with additional fee.

This house also includes a private tropical patio area as well as a balcony off of the entryway and master bedroom. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. 1 off-street parking spot provided.

For entertainment and business (if you choose to do any) this house features an HDTV along with wireless internet access.

Nice quiet OB location, yet close to everything San Diego has to offer. With only a few steps to the beach you can’t beat this location – perfect for surfing, kayaking, body boarding – or just relaxing on the beach. You can even watch the surfer’s and beach action right from the dining room table - you may even see dolphins playing in the surf. With views from living room, dining room and kitchen you will never feel far from the beach.

This house is an easy walk (just a few blocks) to the famous OB pier (the longest concrete pier on the west coast) and the main business district of Ocean Beach – Newport Avenue. On Newport you will find restaurants (ask about our favorites), antique stores, coffee houses, bars, bike and surf shops. On Wednesday evenings Newport Avenue features a Farmer’s Market where you can find local fruits, vegetables and flowers, street performances and food vendors.

San Diego Gathering!
We had a wonderful stay! I met my son & his family from Seattle. They were looking forward to some warmer sunny weather, and thou we had cool cloudy conditions, we had a great time on the beach! The cottage is a small park away from the beach, and within walking distance to wonderful restaurants. I was drawn to the cottage by the owner’s amazing mosaics. The place was very clean, beds comfortable, nice linens. And we enjoyed the lovely & private outdoor patio. We look forward to returning!!

Our stay was amazing and Susan made certain that from start to finish that we had everything we needed and were informed on what to expect. The photos are accurate with the exception of the views. Nothing can do the sunsets, watching the waves, the surfers, and beautiful white sails of sailboats justice. The house was stocked extremely well right down to extra ice in the freezer and beach gear for our use. The garden courtyard was a bonus place to enjoy while not watching the view from the window or to sit a bit after being at the beach. Our adult kids loved walking for coffee in the morning and actually being greeted by name later in our stay. Speaks to the friendly nature of people in Ocean Beach. We could walk to restaurants and downtown and major attractions were at the most a 15 minute ride. It was no more than 25 minutes to tour LaJolla and explore the views from the peaks of Mt Helix and the Veterans Memorial. Susan has a special place she shares and we were so grateful to have been her guests.

Perfect For Us!
This property was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving vacation! We had five adults and an almost-three-year-old toddler, and we couldn’t have booked a better place to stay. The property is steps away from the beach and within walking distance to anything that we needed, including lots of restaurants, a grocery store, and a Target. We arrived on Wednesday, just in time for the Farmers Market, where we not only picked up dinner for the night but also a quiche for breakfast the next day. “Farmers Market” really doesn’t do the market the proper amount of respect. The food options were above and beyond anything that you would see at a typical farmers market. The property, itself, is spacious, and I really appreciated the size of the kitchen. Everyone had comfortably-sized bedrooms, and the pack-and-play worked very well for our grandson. The mosaic work inside and outside is beautiful, and the view from the dining area is amazing. I will echo the thoughts of others in saying that the largest drawback is that the parking is limited to one car, and parking in close proximity is not plentiful - even in the off-season. Overall, we would definitely come back! Shoot, if this were my property, I would never leave. Thank you Susan!

Great location and views
The property is well appointed with all the necessary kitchen supplies, towels…. Fantastic location and view of the OB beach and pier. Would give an overall 5 star if the beds were all comfortable. The smaller room mattress needs to be changed (sagging in the middle). My wife and I could not get a good night of sleep on that bed. One of us ended up on the couch for two nights.

I bought this property when we were in our early 30's. I have used it as our primary residence and as a rental for over 40 years. We completed a major remodel in 2007 and since then have continued to make additional improvements each year. I now live here for about 4-5 months in the winter and then in a small town of Nevada City the rest of the year. I love my OB home as do our kids and grandkids who love spending time with me at the beach. Great California beach community!!!

Why they chose this property

I have owned many homes in Ocean Beach over the last 35+ years. They have all had their own unique qualities but in the end I chose this unit as my favorite because of a combination of view, closeness to the beach and walking distance to restaurants, breweries and shopping in OB.
