Great waterfront location
10 of us gathered for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The water views and sunsets are spectacular. The house fit us all comfortably (beds, big dinning room table, etc). (Note that the guest house downstairs and upstairs loft are open spaces so you need to adding rooms accordingly.) Anne, Terrence, and Michael were great on communication. Would definitely come back.

A Real Gem
Our group of nine had plenty of space to cook and hang out and relax in this house and guest house. We loved the layout and the proximity to the water and took cold plunges each morning! There were only a few minor things we could mention that might help the next guests; the toaster didn't work, there was no tea kettle (we recommend an electric kettle), and the doors to the backyard were sticking and hard to open. The people who stayed in the guest house were unfamiliar with mini split for heat so some directions on how to operate would be good as well as some extra towel racks. We really loved it and would definitely come back! Thank you!!!

magical weekend gathering
We celebrated my daugher's wedding with a small group of family and friends in this absolutely lovely spot. It was everything we dreamed of and more - a comfortable, extremely well-appointed and very attractive space that allowed us to celebrate in-doors and out-doors over a long weekend with about 25 people (some of whom stayed elsewhere). The garden and sloping lawn down to the water was just magical - even in the rain. There was a fire pit for late night smores, and plenty of lawn games for everyone's enjoyment. Anne, the property manager, was incredibly helpful and made us feel very welcome. We feel very lucky to have had a chance to celebrate in such a special place. Thank you!!

Awesome family reunion!
We had an awesome experience at this beautiful property for our family reunion - 12 people aged 3 - 62. The listing described the location, amenities and property very accurately. We used the kayaks and paddle boarded daily. My husband was able to fish in our motorboat which he launched at a nearby public ramp. We played cornhole and croquet and used the fire pit almost daily. Lots of big family dinners and games at the big tables. Highly recommend the historic four corners area for shopping and dining. All in all - we had a terrific time and loved our time in Tiverton. The host/owner and property manager were wonderful to work with. Thank you!

Purchased in 2017 for family use and rental the new owners are from the New York area and are steadily improving the property as they plan their future retirement. Guests continue to benefit from the continual upgrades. This spectacular family compound is peaceful, private, charming and well appointed.

Why they chose this property

Only direct waterfront property in the Tiverton/Little Compton area that can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people on a private wooded 3.3 acre compound with gorgeous water views of the cove and sunsets. Private dock allows for swimming, fishing, and boating.
Perfectly situated between Newport and Providence and up the road from historic, undiscovered and undeveloped Little Compton, the house is an ideal base to access nearby beaches, hiking trails, golf, wineries fine dining, fishing sailing and marine activities, farm and nature preserves.

Bucolic and quaint, Tiverton, Rhode Island is an old new England town, founded in 1694. Its rich history begins with the landing of the pilgrims, the Indian wars and the American Revolution. Main Road is one of America's most scenic drives winding 9 miles South along the wide Sakkonnet river thru farmlands and estates in Little Compton, RI. ending at ocean beaches.

What makes this property unique

Situated 60 minutes from Boston and 25 miles East of Providence, 20 minutes from Newport and the historic whaling town of New Bedford there are endless opportunities for exploration. The Main House vine covered patio faces west down the manicured lawn to the water. The new owners, who have a close relationship with the previous owners, continue improvements year after year and plan to one day retire to the home and so treat the home as their own. Rental guests are often greeted with fresh bouquets from the garden which is typically filled with fresh herbs, vegetables and flowers.
