Amazing View

  • 1 of 5

The view is as pictured, very beautiful. The place itself needs updated and seen a few bugs inside. There isn't any Air Conditioning, which would of been nice if disclosed on the features. It did cool down at night and we had a fan that ran at night near a window that we had to keep open all night because it was too hot. The cooling fan in the living-room was not much help (they had ice packs that we had to keep refreezing and fill tank with water, daily). Some of the outlets did not work (the one by the front door near the fireplace). Furniture, decor was out dated and very bad lighting.

Very friendly staff but there is a lot of upgrades that needs to be done.

Live in Honolulu, Hawaii

Tough in the winter, likely better in summer.

  • 3 of 5

The lake view is spectacular from this unit. However the place had a lonely feel in the winter. Only a couple of other guests on a holiday weekend. Did the hosts forget that I had booked a stay? I never saw them and the town magazines in the unit were from summer. Sure they provided a contact phone number but nothing beats a personal greeting. The upper walkways were nicely cleared of snow but icy patches between the parking lot and entrance stairs were never cleared. This made it particularly treacherous carrying skis, boots and bags. There was no information regarding the restaurant and bar on the property and were it not for the friendly bartender doubling as a cook there was no other service on a Thursday night. The fireplace was good and the jacuzzi was soothing.

Tahoe Vista Inn

  • 5 of 5

My wife, sister-in-law and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights at the Tahoe Vista Inn. We shared a 2 bedroom suite with a super lake view from the living room, and kitchen. Our hostess Sheri was very helpful and friendly from our fist contact in March, while looking for a place to stay in July. The Boat House restaurant has great potential- they had only just opened and we still feeling their way- and the food was very good.

We will certainly return for another visit, hopefully in the near future.

Tahoe Dream

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at numerous lodgings all over Lake Tahoe and have to say this is my new favorite. It has so many things going for the property, including one of the best management teams (Sheri & Kristi) I have yet to deal with. The owner was very pleasant as well and treated us all very respectfully. First, it's lakefront, so it does not get much better than that! On the north shore and practically right next door to a launch ramp! Gorgeous views with a nicely appointed deck, including nice patio furniture. We stayed in unit 4 and 5 and had other friends there in unit 6 and 8. They too were so incredibly happy with their accommodations. Our units were very nice, clean, fully equipped kitchen, I-Pod docking stations, comfy king sized beds, and then there's those views... We also were delighted with a huge perk in getting a buoy with our rental at no extra fee. Keep in mind you have to have something to get OUT to your boat and buoy like a kayak or dinghy. We had neither and due to the water being lower than normal we were able to leave our boat on the sandbar right out front, which we thought was so incredibly cool of the owner to allow us this - as it made for easy loading and unloading. Can't promise that will be the case for others, and it was seriously due to low water and the type of boat we have. Then there is also the added perk of a restaurant, Captain Jon's, literally right there and they had very good food and service. They are under new management and we were very happy with everything we had. We will be planning this same trip next year with the same group and we already know, THIS is where we want to be for sure!!!! Thanks Sheri and Kristi for making our stay so easy and wonderful!
