Do yourselves a favor and stay here and while in Montreal. Perfect location!! The family was more than great they even had fresh baked bread and local beers in the fridge when we got there. The unit had all the right stuff, coffee, tons of information, great beds, lots of space. They really helped us navigate the transit system and we saved a ton of money.
Wonderful apartment for a family vacation
We just came back from spending 5 days in Maryse's and Yvan's beautiful apartment during the holidays. They offered us the best welcome we have ever had when renting through vrbo. The place is perfect to accommodate a family of 5.
We all found all the comfort and necessities we needed. We even got some treats!
The apartment is located in a quiet and pleasant area which is close to both a metro and bus system. The public transportation is very to use and allows to visit the numerous attractions in the city.
Thank you Maryse and Yvan. We are looking forward to visiting again.
Roomy, quiet, and comfortable place for 4.
We enjoyed our stay. The owners were prompt and easy with any communications. Maryse came up the morning after our late night arrival and answered all our questions about the neighborhood and getting around Montreal. It was a very quiet place with plenty of room for 2 couples including comfy seating in the living room, a large dining room table, and an adequately equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the small front balcony although the weather did not permit much outside sitting. In fact since we did alot of walking, the one very cold day gave me an excuse to sink into the large claw foot tub for a hot bath. What a pleasure! The apartment was very clean and the beds were comfy. We enjoyed our neighborhood and walked most of the time while exploring the rest of the city. We hoofed it from 3 to 7 miles a day and did not mind that we were south of the downtown and Old Montreal. Uber was the answer for dinner and late night jazz since by then our feet needed a rest. Only 2 negative things: one was the shower in the old tub. A slightly rounded bottom on which to stand and no grab bars or a wall to lean against makes it a little iffy for anyone with balance issues. The other was the oven door which needs repair. It was very difficult to open and close and is about to be broken and stuck in an open position.
All in all, I would recommend this place for anyone who has no problem with stairs and wants a comfy and quiet place to stay with helpful but unobtrusive hosts.
I hope your return home has gone well. Thank you for your feedback. It has been a joy to welcome you with your family and to be an accomplice of your reunion with Montreal after more than thirty years. We care about the comfort and safety of our visitors. I take note of adjusting the oven door to make it easier to use.
If you feel like returning to Montreal, we will be happy to see you anytime.
This property is quite special; it truly has wonderful character, tall ceilings, large windows with lots of light and other lovely details. There are two markets close by that you can shop and enjoy a meal at the table. I found the dish/glassware to be above what I have found at other locations. We mainly drove but I understand that there was a metro close by. If you want a place just in reach of the city, I would recommend this one.
We loved our stay at Yvan's place in Point Saint Charles!
We had a great time and everything worked out well. We did not have a car during our stay but we didn't mind the short walk to the metro station or over the canal to Marche Atwater. Thanks so much for a great stay - we would love to return!
Lovely apartment, great location
The apartment was spacious for my family of 5 (3 young adults and 2 "elders") and had every convenience to make our almost week long stay very enjoyable. Right by at bus to downtown (for which you need exact change... coins only) .. a relatively short walk to the subway. Grocerystores and the Marche Atwater are nearby.. but not really walkable with heavy stuff. Bixi bikes can be rented just down the street, and a ride along the canal pathway is lovely... I passed a yoga class, a cafe, and tons of people out enjoying a beautiful morning. Parking is no problem if you drive here. A steep set of stairs up to the apartment and then , while in the apartment, up to the washroom and bedrooms, make the apartment not so suitable for someone elderly or with mobility issues.
Thank you very much Christine. We wish we had more time with you. Maybe next time.
