Lovely apartment, very modern

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoy our stay. The apartment is just as the pictures show, very modern and clean.

We couldn't get Netfix to work but probably our own fault because we couldn't be bothered wasting our time, close walk to the lifts and right across from the Fairmont which has a lovely bar. We only had one towel per person so we could of done with another towel but over all pretty much perfect for us.

Lovely unit...few tweaks needed

  • 3 of 5

LOVED our vacation. Our 9 yr old LOVED having the upstairs for herself. We were there when it was 90+ degrees. Those lovely large 2 floors of windows have no blinds...they need blinds. With no air conditioning, we tried a day keeping the unit shut up tight and a day with the windows and patio door left open. Neither kept it cool. We had to hope that we didn't get inundated with bugs each night (didn't) and keep everything open all night to cool off. Owner was VERY responsive when we inquired about needing garbage bags. I think their cleaning crew is slacking a bit. The floors looked like they could use a good moping and found 3 different towels (kitchen and bath) that had stains on them. The location was removed from the noise and bustle of the central village and yet still easily accessible. The Farmer's Market was RIGHT outside the Lodge on Sunday and was AWESOME! One of the excursions we did picked us up at the front door. Pool plaster was being "cured" so the heaters were not on so no one was able to stay in for more than a few seconds. That was the biggest bummer. We booked a spot that had a pool and yet the lakes were we went to the lake several times to cool off. Saw a bear at Rainbow Park and from the Peak to Peak gondola so that was great! We would definitely consider booking this location again...just need to confirm the pool. :)

Bright and Clean!

  • 4 of 5

This was a lovely 2 BR condo with lots of room and privacy from each other. The renos gave it a modern and clean look as well. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

The only issue was the incredible outdoor heat (30°C) which the ceiling fans could not keep up with and the room climbed to above 28°C. Although the weather was unusual, it would be beneficial to consider installing air - the other two units we had both were equipped.

Great Location and Unit

  • 5 of 5

Glacier Lodge is located a very short walk to the Blackcomb base area. Right up Blackcomb Mountain on the Wizard Express chair. Access to Whistler Mountain and Village by a short ride up the Magic Chair and ski down on the Village Run. About a 15 minute walk to Whistler Village. Glacier Lodge has a great ski rental shop with overnight storage. The property has a bottle shop and a pub. A small grocery store just across the street from the main entrance. The pool and hot tubs are in a central courtyard. The unit has all new appliances, cabinets, showers and fixtures. There is a master bedroom with en suite bathroom. On the second level are two queen beds. The second bath is on the lower level which can be somewhat inconvenient although it is right at the bottom of the stairs in the entry area. Excellent television and internet service. The owner is very friendly and helpful as all the folks in BC seem to be. Would come back again for sure.

Scam going on in building w cleaners

  • 1 of 5

The unit was perfectly fine. Small but everything fine. It is not serviced daily so if you are used to more upscale accomodation you will be not happy. You have to take your own garbage out - to the basement, including recycling. Also the toilets were blocked (both) one evening. Another owner in the building told us they are ALWAYS blocked as the pipes are not good when its very cold. They withheld our security deposit because of supposed damage. There was make up and toothpaste on the face towels (needed to be replaced???) and they had to vacuum behind the sofa. Also tissues needed to be picked up in childrens room. Clearly the owners do not pay for proper cleaning in between guests, so the cleaner asks for more $.Another family we knew also had the same experience with complaints the unit was not clean enough...its a scam! so we will NEVER go back to this place again. Like Faulty towers. Our friends who own a unit here were horrified. They were in our unit at a time when it was supposedly dirty and mortified as it gives other vendors a bad name. They are worried this attitude will have an impact on their rentals. ANyway, STAY AWAY from this one.
