Property was just okay
Based on the other reviews and pictures, my expectations were very high for this place. In reality, it's a very old house that smells like mold/mildew. It's three floors - first floor is kitchen and living room, second floor is one bathroom and two bedrooms, and third floor is one bathroom and one bedroom. The top floors get VERY warm. There is no fan in the master... between the hot air (and mind you, this was May - I'd hate to feel it over the summer!), and a too soft mattress with very cheap-feeling sheets, we slept terribly. I also didn't love having to put one of my kids up on the top floor by themselves. The house was fine, just not great and not somewhere I was excited to come back to at the end of each day. We ended up leaving a day early since no one was sleeping great.

Great location
Nicely located for sight seeing with great access to freeways. Old and needs some updating but overall a nice place and a pleasant stay. Better furniture on patio would be a significant plus. Steep stairs to all bathrooms and bedrooms could be an issue to be aware of for some.

Great accommodations for family trip
We really enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were great! We had 6 adults and a two year old that were very comfortable in the house. It was nice having a large kitchen with all the amenities to cook so we did not have to eat out every meal. The location had a beautiful view of the river and we felt safe walking on the trail. Would definitely book again if in that area!

Visiting family member in her new town
We wanted a place to stay in Harrisburg, that would accommodate our family. The location was very convenient for our needs. Loved the views of the river, as well as the cute patio out back. It was unfortunate that all but 3 of the patio string lights were burned out.

Absolutely Beautiful House!!!
This house was everything and more. It was very accurate in the description and very clean. The house was perfect in every way for our Harrisburg trip. From the bathrooms, to the bedroom linens and kitchen was stocked. If you want a home away from home- this is definitely the one! You won’t be disappointed! ☺️

Easy going person who loves to travel and experience new things, especially authentic cultural foods and people. Huge soccer fan and run the largest pick up group in Austin so swing by anytime to play with me if you're in town. And great danes rule of course!

Why they chose this property

We love downtown because it's a unique neighborhood to play and relax. Riverfront is at your door steps and City Island and the "Walking Bridge" offers a very unique experience of the Susquehanna River.

Harrisburg is a hidden jewel in Pennsylvania due to its rich history, natural beauty and easy access to most major Mid-Atlantic metropolitan cities. It is the capital city of Pennsylvania with many historic buildings to visit. The Blue Ridge & Appalachian Mountains surround it with lots of hiking and biking trails. It is considered the hub of PA due to most major highways passing through or near it.

This house lies on the most southern part of historic Shipoke. It is known for its river front access, views and sunsets. You can easily walk or drive to all points.
We had lived in the city for over 10 yrs and its a joy to visit or do business here.

What makes this property unique

You will be surprised by the natural beauty of the location. There are many bridges that span the Susquehanna River and it's right at your door steps. The serene back patio allows you to enjoy your morning coffee or walk to a bench on Riverfront Park to soak in the sunrise or sunsets. The house is fully furnished for your enjoyment.
