Come and experience our Southern Hospitality in this circa 200 year old building located in the very heart of historic Charleston!

We offer a 5 star deluxe suite that has been lovingly restored to keep the elegance of yesteryear with all the modern luxuries and conveniences. The suite is charming, well appointed, private (only two suites in our building) and secure (multiple key less entry locks). A custom kitchenette is available in your room with a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, dishes and utensils. We provide soaps and towels, coffee, water, chocolates, Biscotti and a bottle of wine! You are sure to enjoy sweet dreams in our queen plush pillow top mattress dressed with 1800 (!) count linens.

Relax on our cozy slate patio or in the sitting area right outside your studio door, a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, to read a book on Charleston or to catch up on your emails (free WiFi).

We are immediately across from the Historic Charleston City Market dating back to 1804. Our location is second to none...park your car (self-parking at a discounted rate is available in a covered and camera secured garage only one block from the suites) and never get back in it if shopping on King Street, dining in first class restaurants, and discovering Revolutionary and Civil War history is your goal. You are sure to find pleasure in visiting one of America's oldest museums, touring the Charleston Harbor by boat or visiting the famous Ft. Sumter, strolling through the adjoining historic neighborhoods and sneaking views of private Charleston courtyard gardens. King Street, known for designer shopping and antiquing and is only one block away.

We own One of a Kind Art & Fine Craft Gallery, only a few steps from our suites.

About Terri and Carl

While visiting the area in 1998 we fell in love with the charm of this historic city and its surroundings, the Southern hospitality and relaxed lifestyle and decided to move here and make it home! We love it more each year. We opened One of a Kind Gallery the year we moved to Charleston. One of a Kind features art and fine crafts from nationally acclaimed artists as well as art by regional and local artisans. We have decorated the suite with lovely original art by artisans from this region. The gallery is located on the same street as the suite, only a few doors down. Let's keep it all on the same block! ;)

The location is second to none! This is the VERY BEST location in downtown Charleston!

What makes this studio unique

The building has a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream shop on the ground floor and opens up to a charming courtyard in the back. There is a complimentary trolley that stops immediately in front of our building. Bike taxis and horse drawn carriages are a popular way of getting around and discovering Charleston's historic treasures and landmarks.

A Perfect Suite in a Perfect Location

My husband and I have rented many VRBO properties, both in the U.S. and in Italy. This one is right up there on our favorites list! The suite is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. It is located so close to shops and restaurants that you do not need a car. Charleston is a very walkable city. There are also bicycle taxis parked nearby and a free bus service called DASH to get to attractions that are farther away. We enjoyed visiting Fort Sumter, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and took a very informative carriage ride around the city. We had excellent meals and recommend Fleet Landing, Frank's Seafood Restaurant, Trattoria Lucca, and Another Broken Egg Café. The Market is directly across the street and we strolled through there every day. The unit is in a 3 story building and the first floor neighbor is Ben & Jerry's! Yum! Being right on Market Street, there is some outside noise but the location and beauty of the suite make up for it. It was easy to communicate with Terri while we were booking our trip. She sent us recommendations of places to visit and where to eat. She also left us a lovely note acknowledging our anniversary and a nice treat which was greatly appreciated. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly, too. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this property! We are sure you will love it!

Perfect stay at the perfect location!

What an amazing trip we had to Charleston, made that much better by the lovely accommodations at the Market Street Suites! We aren't the first to say this, but it's so very true: Terri and Carl have thought of everything! From the personalized welcome note and bottle of wine to the bedside chocolates, bottled water, and fully stocked Keurig, we wanted for nothing during our stay. This was our first visit to Charleston and we felt so fortunate to find this location, directly across from the market and within walking distance to everything that Charleston has to offer!

We can't say enough about our gracious hosts and highly recommend this property for anyone contemplating a visit to Charleston... absolute perfection in every way! Thank you, Terri and Carl!

Perfect for a weekend getaway

Perfect Location and Beautiful Suite

I recently stayed in this suite in the heart of downtown Charleston! The accommodations rivaled a 5 star hotel with the added benefit of being quaint and private! The location was perfect! Walking distance to nearby restaurants, art galleries, shopping and historic district. I highly recommend this beautiful suite!

Amazing property & awesome owner BUT outside noise was an issue

5 stars for property itself minus 1 star for noise issues.

We have booked numerous properties with HomeAway for many years and quite frankly, this property might be the #1 nicest accommodation we have found to date. The owners are genuinely nice people and the restoration efforts of our suite were truly phenomenal. Attention to every single detail. Beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and beyond comfortable. The coffee, water bottles, chocolates and biscotti were much appreciated as well as the fluffiest towels ever. Unfortunately, hydraulic garbage trucks kept us awake early (roughly between 4am-6am) every morning which severely disrupted our sleep. Owners thoughtfully provided ear plugs but the noise was too loud for the ear plugs to be effective. This was no fault of the owners and it’s too bad the city of Charleston cannot find a solution more befitting of this popular tourist area. The mandated Historic old windows cannot block this level of noise which adds to the dilemma. I am left feeling torn. We truly loved every aspect of this conveniently located property but the noise was much worse than anticipated prior to arrival. This might not be a large issue for those guests who are really sound sleepers (I am a light sleeper and my better half sleeps soundly but noise was equally bothersome to us both).

Amazing! Exactly as pictured

We had a wonderful stay in charleston. This property was well-maintained and in a perfect location. Walking distance from many of the areas top restaurants and bars. Key code entry made it so easy to come and go without worrying about having or misplacing a set of keys. The Keurig coffee machine and the water bottles in the fridge made for a “homey” feel. Would highly recommend this property, and should we find ourselves back in charleston, we would absolutely stay here again!

Damage Deposit C$128.85

A 2.9% fee will be charged for CC payments and will be deducted from your security deposit. ECheck is a free service. You may also pay us direct by checks. Contact me direct to make arrangements.

Our rates are from low season $169 per nt to high season $329 per nt. Deposit required at time of booking to secure dates. Parking is available for a reduced rate of $16 per nt in the secure Cumberland parking garage located one block from suite. We will deduct the parking fee from your $100 security deposit for your convenience.

We recommend that our guests take out a traveler's insurance policy that covers your reimbursement if you should need to cancel within 60 days of your stay with us.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
