Hello

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the house. You have done a lovely job of creating a beautiful home.

I particularly valued the swimming pool and the proper fence around it which gave us great confidence with the children. Both families had a wonderful week and i hope to visit the house again soon!

Strongly recommended! Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful restored house in a beautiful and not to touristic area! It is a perfect place to stay and enjoy a very relaxed holiday. And not only in summer. We stayed here at the end of September and had a wonderful time. The large swimming pool was heated so we could swim almost every day. In the evening we lighted the big fire place (enough wood available) which made the house even more cosy than it already is.

This is certainly not a standard holiday home: the beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. You don’t see that very often, but this house is really an exception. It is also very stylish and tasteful decorated and the garden is big with enough pleasant spots to sit down and relax.

There are also plenty of things to do in the area. You can make beautiful walks, visit charming old villages and markets, go to prehistoric caves, play golf and tennis and have some fine dining. The only thing you really need is a car, because there is no public transport nearby.

The owners are very kind and helpful, just as the housekeeper. When you have a problem, they do everything to help you out.

We can’t imagine a better place to spend our holiday and we will definitely come back.

Great place lovely environment kingsize pool

  • 5 of 5

Well kept, beautiful surroundings, lovely pool, tenniscourt in the village, nice owners. In short great place to be for relaxing, touring, walking, cycling and what not.

Area is famous for good food. Village restaurant is a journey into the past. Real French countrystyle food, one menu, copious. In short a real experience.

Owner's Response: Hello Cor, I have read your review (and your wife's review as well) and I am happy that you and your family had a great time. What you say is true: restaurant Beauville, nothing has changed there for at least 50 years as if time stood still. I am glad you enjoyed it like we always do. Thank you for your positive review and hope to see you next time in summer so you can enjoy our great private pool. Best wishes to you and your family, Franklin

Lovely atmosphere, great stay

  • 5 of 5

Am a great fan of this tastefully restored, well equipped, 200 years old cottage.

In everything you can see that the owners have put in a lot of t.l.c. in restoring it.

Lying in a quiet village this house is perfectly suited for those who want to spend an active holiday touring, walking, swimming, canooing or cycling in one of the most beautiful parts of the Dordogne. But if you just want to unstress, no problem either.

Owners are pleasant and customer orientated and take good care of their property. Large terraces and a kingsize, heated swimmingpool (closed in winter).

Restaurant Beauville in the village is quite an experience. Decent old style French country cooking with a menu that probably hasn't changed in ages. But if you go there you will almost certainly spend a very pleasant afternoon.

wonderful holiday at Mas de l'Artillou

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Mas de l'Artillou the first week of May and we had great stay. The house is lovely situated just outside the little villages of Espedaillac. The house is very comfortable and lovely decorated. Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own colour and all the rooms have comfortable beds.

The swimming pool is very child-friendly and completely fenced. There is enough space for both children and adults to relax and play. There are various terraces around to house to benefit from both sun and shadow.

The landlady is very helpfull and nice. When we arrived she gave us a warm welcome and all the information we needed for our stay. We can really recommend a stay at Mas de l'Artillou

Wonderfull house to enjoy with your family

  • 5 of 5

Dear Sonja,

We had a wonderfull time with our family in your house. There is a very warm atmosphere in and around the house and we enjoyed that to the fullest: real family time! You can stay in and around the house near the pool, or you can go out to discover the environment. It's very rural and quiet, but there is enough to do when you take the car or just take a beautiful walk.

The house has everything you need and more. You thought of everything; from a lot of toys for children to everything you need to make a delicious meal.

If you are looking for a well equipped family house in a quiet and rural environment: this is it!

Regards,

Family van Groeningen

The nice village Espédaillac is situated between the rivers Dordogne and Lot. Mas de l'Artillou lies at 4 kilometres from the village. Shopping at 5 - 10 minutes (Livernon or Assier). Figeac is a very nice town with a lot of culture and old centre.

Many activities are possible in the surroundings. From the house there are starting several walking tracks. You can swim in the rivers Lot, Dordogne and Célé. There are many small restaurants where you can eat deliciously for a modest amount. In the summer month's there are everywhere festivals and the well-known “vide greniers” and “brocantes” (please contact tourist office).

Rocamadour is a well-known tourist attraction with many curiosities and activities for young and old. Further: canoeing, a visit to the caves of Padirac, caves of Peche Merle, the open air museum of Cuzals with outside activities, Cahors with its well known bridge 'Valentré'.

Furthermore you can visit one of the many vineyards in the area.
