About this property

Luxury Barn Conversion; Rural Retreat in South West France

La Salette, our beautifully restored 18th century stone farmhouse nestles in the Vere Valley less than 5 minutes stroll from the picturesque village and restaurant of Larroque. L'Ancienne Ecurie, the adjoining barn, has been converted to provide luxurious, independent accommodation for up to 6 people. The barn has original restored stone walls and exposed timbers throughout, with spacious accommodation on three floors. The well equipped kitchen and dining area which seats up to 6 people has double french doors leading on to the south facing terrace and gardens. The large sitting room is located on the first floor and has a vaulted beamed ceiling with views of the beautiful countryside. It has 3 spacious double bedrooms, a galleried mezzanine and 3 bathrooms. Situated within 3 acres of grounds with beautiful views of the village of Larroque, with its half timbered houses.

Garden and Grounds.: Your holiday home is set within 3 acres of grounds and has mature trees with extensive natural shade.

L'Ancienne Ecurie has its own table and chairs for outdoor dining, sun loungers and access to many areas of additional seating with a choice of sunshine or shade.
Also available for your entertainment are facilities for table tennis, badminton, boules and football.
A barbecue is provided for you.

You can easily walk from L'Ancienne Ecurie along ancient tracks through the shady forest of the Gresigne to the hill top village of Puycelsi (Fortress of the Gresigne).

Local Activities: Leisure and sporting facilities to be found locally, include the Base de Loisirs near Castelnau de Montmiral and in the opposite direction, at Monclar de Quercy. Here are man-made lakes with supervised swimming, water slides, beach, boating and fishing. The nearby vast (1600 acres) sports and leisure complex at Cap Decouverte has a wide range of activities which include skiing, rail toboganning, zip-lining, roller blading, skating and a swimming pool with fun pool, slides and waterfall.
The spectacular Aveyron Gorges lead to the medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val with its popular Sunday morning market. This provides an opportunity to taste the local delights of Foie Gras, cheese, pates, Gaillac, Quercy or Cahors wines. The river Aveyron offers a popular location for swimming, picnicing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and potholing. At Bruniquel you can enjoy a day's walking on the banks of the Aveyron or Vere with a hired donkey carrying your picnic or your young child.

Well worth a visit.: Albi, the capital town of the Tarn, and Montauban, the capital town of the Tarn et Garonne, are both within a 45 minute drive. overall perfect stay!
We were 4 friends from Berlin, spending our 2 weeks workation (mix of work and vacation) in la salette and we just loved it. The house, the garden, all the small villages around were just perfect. And while the "center" of laroque is just a 5 min walk away, in the house you are in the middle of wonderful nature. Also Robin and Rosie were very attentive and lovely hosts while still providing enough space and privacy. thank you for exceeding our expectations in every way.

L’Ancienne Curie - a converted barn near Larroque in SW France
The barn has been delightfully renovated by its owners. It is large and comfortable and its facilities (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry) are modern and clean. It is ideally placed as a base for exploring the cities, towns and villages in the area

Super adresse !
