About this property

Dreamcatcher

This property is available for December but there will be a cat on the premise. You will get a 10% discount if you feed the cat. It is an indoor/ outdoor cat. Only inquire if you like a nice, healthy 6 year old female cat, Lupita. Tabby
The mountain areas NC are known for the many beautiful arts and crafts style homes. Welcome to your home away from home, it has a cozy feel while reflecting the added care and detail that home builders of the past took great pains to incorporate in their one of kind homes.
Our home was built in 1925 and has just gone thru a complete renovation. New electric, plumbing, kitchen, bathrooms, and all new appliances. While the renovations were extensive the goal was to keep the old fashion charm of this beautiful home. The bedrooms have new mattress with new bedding/towels. The bathrooms have the comfort of an old fashion claw foot tub for a wonderful bath. This house is on a very quiet street with its own private driveway. I have just added a brand new flat screen television with VGA connection to your laptop for many internet programs.
Location is what matters, my home is minutes away either by car or a short walk to the River Art District and the Biltmore Estates. These areas are the hub of art studios, galleries, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and music venue. Please contact me for special offers and any other accommodations to your schedule.

I'd stay again!
The listing description was exactly what we found upon arrival. Location was great. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owner was helpful with questions and left a book of information which was also extremely helpful including recommendations for restaurants. Weather permitting, there are several places to eat within a good walking distance. I would recommend this property and I would stay again.

A fun Birthday trip!
This is a very unique house and my college friend and I enjoyed our three night stay in Asheville. I was in the king sized bed, which was a good choice as my window coverings let in light and I am a morning person. My friend's front bedroom dark shades allowed her to continue snoozing. The attention to detail to preserve the older wooden bedroom doors reminded me of my senior year college apartment (from the late 60's). However, the brand new kitchen was definitely modern and spacious. I enjoyed using it. The bird feeder kept me constantly watching all the cardinals and blue jays that happened by. It was unseasonably cool during our visit in mid-May, so didn't get a chance to sit outside. The house is set in a very interesting diverse neighborhood. I am from Miami and my friend from Augusta, GA and we found the neighbors friendly as I waved good morning as we were both putting trash out. A former Catholic School two doors down was purchased in the early 1970's by a church whose own building burned down. It was a great story to read on the internet. The building fascinated me with its classic statues of Saint Anthony Padu. We found Trader Joe's through town across the Interstate which I loved. My friend preferred the VERY nice Harris Teeter Grocery store next door. Between the two we found things for a light supper the evenings we didn't eat out. We enjoyed walking around downtown. The Ten Thousand Villages was very intriguing with crafts made around the globe and I bought several items for gifts. Of course the Biltmore was fabulous and the next day we had fun rummaging around the Antique Tobacco Barn. Found some "treasures" we couldn't resist. Thanks for a lovely introduction to Asheville through living in a very fun house. I bet its history is also interesting.

Update, clean, quiet home
We enjoyed the house, it was just as advertised, well stocked, very clean and quiet. The home was larger than I expected, the room off the back with the futon served as a third bedroom. Nice house, long walk downtown but Uber is only about $6, so it all worked out well. Great weekend for our family & friend.

Artistic Craftsman in Quiet Neighborhood
We stayed in Ana's home for 6 nights for our vacation and to attend an art workshop. Both Ana and Vickie were very accommodating to my personal request. The home was clean with a minimalist, artsy vibe. The kitchen had all the items necessary to cook and serve meals - all the way down to the wine corks. The front porch and back deck both had comfortable seating to enjoy coffee, wine or any drink of choice. Bird feeder and food provided so you can enjoy the many birds who frequent the deck. The mattress on the king bed was firm and so comfortable. This home was perfect for me to unwind, meditate and rejuvenate. I walked to both the River Arts District and downtown on many occasions. Both areas were in short walking distance with downtown being the farthest (approximately two miles). The routes I walked seem to be very safe and all had sidewalks for easy travel. West Asheville and downtown both have so many choices on food and activities that you will never be bored. The homeowner provided a magazine that references the best of everything that Western North Carolina (WNC) has to offer. I definitely would stay here again - I would even let Ana adopt me. :-)

I fell in love with Asheville the first time I visited years ago. Asheville provides a creative outlet for artist and lovers of the arts. I am both! I love to go bird watching, hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Asheville's incredible natural beauty is what has drawn my family and I.

Why they chose this property

After looking at many areas, I realized that I love being within walking distance to The River Art District , to the great restaurants in downtown and to all the shows, music venues and theaters that are available just minutes away from my home. Location is so important as we try to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. The house is located near the up and coming River Arts district.

What makes this property unique

This home is so beautiful and so well constructed. I love entertaining in such an amazing space. Where you can create amazing meals in our newly renovated kitchen and enjoy the great friends I have in Asheville. I also love just sitting on the rockers and watching all the birds that come up to our bird feeders. Lastly, it is so nice to have a short ride, bike ride or walk to all the places I want to go to. Living so close to everything is a real big benefit.
