We love to ski Red Lodge Mountain. Camping, hiking, fishing, boating, motorcycle rides and gardening are some of our favorite activities.
Wade and Melanie purchased this house in 1998
Great western town close to Billings with lots to do all season long. Walk down town at night and take in a great dinner, movie or stop at a local pub and meet some of the locals; it's a lot of fun!
Usually there are deer in the back yard or ally when we show up to stay overnight , then we pray that we get lots of fresh powder to ski in the morning !
This place was so clean and comfortable. Worked out great for us. Its nice to be so close to downtown. Thanks
I thought when my husband and I retired, we would retire to a little ski town. Our four week stay on Cloud 10 was an even better way to fulfill that dream! While my husband skied twelve days, I skied two and spent the remainder of the time sewing a quilt top. As usual, we enjoyed the shopping and restaurants, and this trip we even went to a couple of movies at the Roman. The house is so conveniently located that the car only left the garage to go to the ski area. We have been coming to Red Lodge since the 1970's, and this was by far our favorite trip. We felt like "locals"! Everything was as described, and we are hoping to repeat our stay next year.
with fresh snow available on the slopes for most of our stay, it is hard to be anything other than completely satisfied! But our lodging as guests of Wade and Melanie added to the pleasure of our 4 days on the slopes. The house is cozy and very quaint. Appreciated the blue tooth enabled sound system as we played games around the dining table. Beds were comfortable and the house was very functional for our snow board adventures. We really liked the kitchen stove as once it is heated you have an entire hot plate area in the center. We woke each morning to approx. 15 degrees below zero, but the house did a good job of keeping us cozy. For those temps. perhaps a small portable heater for the rear bath would be handy (we used one from upstairs bedroom to make that bathroom usable in the cold mornings). The location is great as you never have to get in a car to get downtown to all the great resteraunts and shops. We look forward to our next visit!
Wade and Melanie's house was so perfect for our family to stay for the weekend. The house came equipped with everything we needed and Wade was so friendly and accommodating. The decorations and ambience at the house were adorable, and having to walk one or two blocks to our destination was awesome! Would recommend to anyone in the future!
Home is very convenient to downtown Red Lodge and was a nice size for our needs. Outdoor space was relaxing and gas grill and use of the garage were a real plus. Only negatives were the older stove that had limited use and the many collectables throughout the house which we were afraid we might break. TV could use an upgrade, also.
We spent 4 nights at Cloud 10 and were very pleased. The owners were very easy to work with, all communication occurred timely. The house is well kept, and stocked with all you need for an extended stay. Thanks to Wade and Melanie for providing the coffee, all paper products and the lovely bottle of wine, upon our arrival. The outside patio was very enjoyable, we spent most evenings in the back yard enjoying the surroundings. You can't beat the location, it was located right off main street, but it sits far enough back that noise was not a factor. If we return to Red Lodge, we would definitely rent this home again.
Loved the stay at Cloud #10 in Red Lodge, MT. We come up every ear for the Beartooth Bike Rally, and this was our first time at Wade and Melanie's home. It's centrally located and within walking distance of Main Street. Head on down for dinner at Carbon County Steakhouse, ice cream at scoops, or live music at the Snow Creek. Loved the house, thank you so much for allowing to spend time in your lovely home.
Take a drive up the scenic Beartooth byway and enjoy the views from on top of the world. Keep a eye out for bears, moose and mountain goats.Take in the vast Beartooth Mountains within a few miles of town with endless trails, mountain lakes and pristine scenery! You wont be disappointed. Red Lodge is a resort and ranching community with a colorful coal mining past that sits in the shadow of 28 different 12,000-foot peaks. This charming alpine town is nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Beartooth Mountains and is surrounded by Custer National Forest. The 69-mile Beartooth Scenic Drive has dramatic switchbacks overlooking snow-capped peaks, glaciers, alpine lakes and plateaus.
Area attractions include historic downtown Red Lodge, the Carbon County Museum, which invites all those who are interested in the spirit of Montana's pioneer heritage to view its exhibits; nearby Yellowstone National Park and Cooney State Park; and, of course, Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort, one of the most famous Montana ski areas. At the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary, visitors can view native Montana wildlife who are housed at the sanctuary because they can’t be returned to the wild.
