About the property

If you've been longing to spend time in Maine in the summer to enjoy our beautiful beaches, rocky coast and lobster this is an affordable yet comfortable way to do it. This will be the nicest budget vacation rental you have ever seen!

The apt has a separate bedroom that is bright and sunny with a queen bed. The other room has a galley style kitchen and living room combined.

Stack-able washer/dryer in the unit, stand up shower (no tub) in the bath.

Private entry-way from the front door.

It's a clean fully furnished and decorated unit in a great location. We are located in Willard Square right across from the famous Scratch Bakery and now also famous Willard Scoops ice cream shop (we own it!)

You can walk to the beach, it's only one third of a mile or if you prefer to drive with beach chairs, cooler etc. there is a parking lot located close to the beach.

Enjoy a quiet vacation while blending in with the locals at Willard Beach, South Portland, Maine. Willard Beach is a small, mile long, sandy neighborhood beach with beautiful views of Casco Bay, the islands and the ship channel that leads to Portland Harbor. Stroll in the sand at dawn and see the local fishing boats head out to sea. Soak up the sun and salty sea air at South Portland's best-kept secret!!

Walk to a wonderful local restaurant (David's). Drive three miles to Portland's Old Port district which offers shopping, night life, and a variety of outstanding restaurants. Take the Casco Bay Lines ferries to local islands for biking, dining, or exploring. Short drive from I-295 which leads to Freeport, Maine, home of the world famous L.L. Bean and numerous outlet stores.

Charming Retreat by the Sea

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the Willard Beach cottage. The space was nicely decorated, comfortable and very well equipped with everything that we needed including a plethora of high quality towels and linens. Even though it is completely updated, we appreciate the heritage feel of the space with it's old doors and wooden features. Most importantly it was conveniently located in Willard Square with it's fabulous bakery, ice cream shop and creperie. And of course the beach was just a few minutes walk. We also enjoyed the coastal walk to the lighthouse with it's views of Portland and the nearby Lighthouse park and museum. Portland -- just a few minutes by car or 45 minute walk -- was a lot of fun -- especially the First Night Art Walk and free access to museums. We also took advantage of nearby Crescent and slightly further Wells beach with it's rolling surf. Nearby Freeport and Brunswick -- home of historic Bowdoin College -- also provided a nice day's outing. We highly recommend this charming, well-priced cottage, and look forward to coming again next year!

Exactly as advertised.

Cozy one bedroom, one bath w/ kitchenette, and living room.

The bed was comfortable and the only thing that can be improved in the bedroom is adding another layer to the window coverings. There is one layer of curtains over two of the three windows. Which then leads to letting a lot of light in. The owner was very receptive to that suggestion. Also anything we needed during our stay was either addressed with a quick response or a physical change. For example the weather had been cool and without humidity. Once the weather was forecasted to change, that day, a window AC unit was installed in the bedroom by one of the owners. My husband and I successfully had a relaxing and comfortable week long stay.

Sunny, comfortable and close the beach!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was wonderful! The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was perfect, the couches cozy, sunlight streaming in everywhere. The location is close to everything, great food, the beach, Portland, trails to bike on and places to explore. We would definitely stay here again! And definitely get a bagel or three from Scratch Baking across the street if you stay.

Cozy beach apartment

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked into this charming little apartment we felt the relief that comes with a relaxing vacation. Located only a 10 minute drive to the Old Port and a 10 minute walk to the beach this apartment made for a perfect "home base" for our vacation. Perfect for a couple who wants to get away and enjoy relaxation, but also get out and see all the beautiful sights Portland and the rest of Southern Maine has. Can't wait to book again!
