About this property

Private Beach Access, Quiet, Farm Setting, Secluded Nature Trails

Your health and safety comes first to us! We are using products approved by the CDC to eradicate any lingering germs, bacteria, and viruses. We are taking extra precautions by ensuring all commonly touched surfaces are wiped down completely. The linens, towels, bed sheets, etc. are washed per manufacturers guidelines. We are also stocking our home with essential disinfectants and supplies to help you follow the CDC’s guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you to our property and hosting your stay.

This home is located on the North Olympic Peninsula, midway between the two towns of Port Angeles and Sequim. Nestled along the bluffs overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Hunters' Gate Farm sits along the west side of the mouth of McDonnell Creek. Hunters' Gate Farm Guesthouse offers relaxation with privacy and intimacy. The entire property and grounds are at your disposal. There are several wooded trails that lead to waterfront look-outs where you will want to sit and reflect on the natural surroundings, the native plants, the birds, wildlife, passing ships, the sunsets or the peace and quiet of the property itself. You will enjoy a sumptuous night's sleep as you listen to the waves and enjoy the high end mattresses and luxurious, hand ironed, high thread count linens. Contemporary finishes, high end appliances, and comfortable decor, surrounded by nature.

Our newly constructed Guesthouse was the family home for 33 years before it was mostly destroyed by fire in 2012. The original foundation and outer cement walls are concrete block. Now, within those familiar walls we feel a sense of tradition and timelessness. Reconstruction completed in 2019 which was a lengthy effort but well worth the work and wait to save a much loved home.

The outdoor features include nature trails, lawns and patios, BBQ gas grill, and picnic table. There are gardens, orchards, fields, and grassy areas all within the water view. Our flock of laying hens reside in the barn with the peacocks, and are fun to view from the outside. There is an outside greenhouse and a sunroom for sitting surrounded by indoor plants.

You will enjoy our private beach trail which is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles. We are only a 10 minute bike ride to the Olympic Discovery Trail, which you can get to using our bicycles provided for guests.

The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.

There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.

The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Hunters' Gate Farm Guesthouse.

Truly amazing property. Quiet and peaceful. Walks were a challenge yet fun. Deer were beautiful to see every day. Margory was a thoughtful host. We loved the time there.

Perfect for our extended stay
We escape to the PNW to visit family in the summer ever since we moved to FL. This location is easy, 2 hour access from Seattle, convenient to the many activities in the area; yet is secluded, quiet, and beautiful. We enjoyed having access to the beach for hikes, and our 2 year old grandson could walk the many trails on the property. My husband and I fed the chickens almost every morning, and the deer would take their naps in our front yard. If you are looking for a farm and beach experience, this property delivers. The home was well equipped, comfortable, and updated. We highly recommend booking this property and would stay again if in the area.

Perfect
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds and guest home were very well maintained, the views were incredible, and it felt very peaceful and private. We enjoyed watching the deer stand on their hind legs and pick fruit and leaves from the tree in front of the guest house. Zero complaints.

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. Spacious and well decorate, the home included all the amenities we needed to be comfortable. The property was gorgeous. As a local of this area on a staycation, I found the placement in town to be very convenient and loved being near the water. Highly recommended.

We feel very fortunate to be able to live in one of the most beautiful and unique spots on the North Olympic Peninsula and to be able to share it with travelers seeking to experience the beauty and wonders of this special area. We are located on several acres of land, partially farmland, partially woodland on the high bank waterfront bluff along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Our views are of the majestic Olympic mountain range to the south and of Vancouver Island, B.C. to the north. Having a wooded creek as our eastern boundary, we are able to provide the unique access pathway to the beach below. All of our several vacation rental homes enjoy the use of this same five minute hiking trail which is the most treasured feature of our properties. Wildlife abounds in this natural habitat where deer, eagles, river otter, seals and more are seen as an every day occurrence. We work daily at our other businesses where we sell home improvement products such as appliances, flooring, cabinets etc. We strive to have all of our vacation homes reflect our enthusiasm for inviting, quality interiors so that our guests feel truly welcome and at home while they stay in our homes.

Why they chose this property

We have lived on this acreage for many, many years and have gradually developed several vacation rentals on it over the past few years. We love this beautiful land and try to keep it looking it's best for everyone who comes to visit so that they will enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

The Hunters' Gate Guesthouse is equipped with everything you will need to stay for a weekend or even for a month at a time. It has clean, new, high end appliances including a glass top range and a dishwasher and all of the cooking utensils, cookware, dishes and glassware that you will need to fully enjoy your meals. You will want to barbecue outdoors on the gas grill and share your meals watching the sunsets and the wildlife that is all around. The luxurious, comfortable couch is perfect for relaxing indoors and enjoying the 70" smart T.V. and stereo or just reading a good book. The quality front loading laundry set is there for your convenience and the bathroom offers a bathtub and shower combination. The queen size beds and will accommodate four people very comfortably with high thread count, hand ironed linens. It is so quiet and private and when the deer stroll past the porch and nibble on the fruit trees, it is like a storybook setting. When the exquisitely beautiful peacock comes by everyone gets out their cameras!
