This multi-million dollar, architect designed home sits on 60 acres ensuring absolute privacy and breathtaking views of the Madison Range. Located in the exclusive gated community of Sun West Ranch, you have private access to 3 miles on both sides of the Madison River. Only 18 homes dot this 2000 exclusive wildlife preserve. Almost every other home is a private vacation home. Very few of these exclusive homes are available for rent. Sun West Lodge is an easy drive to Yellowstone Park through the West Yellowstone entrance. Once you sit out on the huge wrap around deck or dine with family and friends in the vaulted ceiling dining room looking out at your forested view, you will come back year after year.
This wonderful home offers plenty of space for everyone. The main floor master bedroom with a California king sized bed has its own full bath as well as an office and walk out access to the deck. Upstairs, the north gues bedroom has a king sized bed and a private bathroom and balcony. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed with a private balcony. This bedroom shares a bath with the two bed Western bunk room but also has a sink for freshening up when the bathroom is in use. On the main floor there is a half bath for visitors.
Cuddle up in front of the TV in the sunken living room with a two story stacked rock fireplace. The huge family kitchen welcomes everyone to gather and share stories of the day's adventures.
Out on the large deck, guests can gather around the built in gas grill and you prepare a delicious dinner and gaze at the surrounding mountains and pines.
Speaking of adventures, if you aren't hiking through the private ranch, riding your horses in the Madison Valley or fly fishing along the Madison River, you also have lots of other choices. What about.....
Hire a guide for a full or half day float down the river
Hire a guide to teach your whole family the art of fly fishing
Travel to West Yellowstone and enjoy restaurants, live theater, shopping, the West Yellowstone Museum, IMAX Theater or Bear Discovery Center.
Schedule a day to drive in to see Old Faithful, the architecturally famous Old Faithful Inn and the many bison, elk, coyotes, swans, bald eagles and other creatures that inhabit this wonderful park.
Learn to fish Quake and Wade Lakes
Visit Quake Lake Visitors' Center and learn about this fascinating geological area.
Head 30 miles north to the quaint town of Ennis to shop, antique, grocery shop and dine. Head 10 miles west from there and visit the Old West town, Virginia City. There you can take a guided walking tour, horse drawn carriage tour or get on the steam engine train to visit the town of Nevada City.
Or head north from Ennis to Norris and their funky natural hot springs. Most evenings you can sip a glass of wine, order a light meal and listen to local musicians, all from the hot springs pool.
Once home from your daily adventures, you can grill your dinner on the deck or order in a beautifully catered meal. Laundry is a snap with a huge laundry room conveniently located on the main level.
Horses are welcome and have pasture and water within your view. No horses, not a problem. Hiking is also perfect as you travel along designated footpaths on the Ranch or past the Ranch in the Lee Metcalf Wilderness area.
An added benefit for your peace of mind is that the property managers live ten miles from your home and are available to answer any questions or solve any issues anytime you need them.

Absolutely awesome! My family spent 10 days in the house and was in awe the entire time. Clean, comfortable, spacious, everything you need. Complete kitchen setup well beyond what anyone would expect. Extra towels, blankets, general household necessities, coolers to keep food cold for the grocery runs into Ennis, the list goes on and on. There was wildlife around the house every day. Fantastic hiking around the house. Fishing in the Madison River was a once in a lifetime event. Ennis is the classic small town America with a 4th of July day of events that are top notch. Instructions and information on the house was clear and concise. If you’re looking to stay in the Madison Valley or visit Yellowstone, this is the house to do it in. You won’t be disappointed.
Our family of 7 adults and two babies had a wonderful time staying at this gorgeous property. Beautiful and unpretentious accommodations - perfect for our family, and very child friendly with playpen and a dedicated child-sized play room. Kitchen was fully equipped, including pantry, and all appliances in great working order. Cozying up to the wood burning fireplace was the perfect way to wind down the cool mountain evenings. Stars at night from horizon to horizon. Elk, eagles, and even a bull moose steps away from our door. The house is tight, secure, perhaps not as much soundproofing as we would have liked (babies!), but the generous and open floor plan was inviting and made for a wonderful family atmosphere. Highly recommended, and our family looks forward to returning to this particular slice of wilderness paradise.
What an unbelievable stay in one of the most scenic getaways this side of the Mississippi! If what you seek is an unforgettable retreat into God's country, this little slice of paradise is the perfect place to be. That cabin was well appointed, spacious, and perfectly located between Ennis and Yellowstone so you can get all your shopping done and still have enough time to check out one of the most beautiful national parks America has to offer. Highly recommend this cabin to any and all families, big or small.
If you are looking for a place for a Montana mountain vacation, look no further, this is your place.
We stayed 5 days with 3 adults and 4 kids, had an unbelievable time. This house is outstanding. Incredibly comfortable, tucked away at the back of a ranch with real privacy and incredible views. We grilled out almost every night and ate while watching the Montana backcountry. Even saw wildlife.
We spent our days fly fishing, touring the area, hiking, and horse back riding. Our kids (and adults) did not want to leave. In fact, we may go back next year with a bigger group.
As far a the rental, I can't say enough about it, very comfortable, well furnished, great kitchen, bedrooms, but mostly, that back deck!!!
Everyone enjoyed the house. Its nearly off the grid, tons of wildlife, and amazing views. It was exactly what we wanted.
Totally private views in exclusive home. Private fly fishing access to 3 1/2 miles of both sides of the Madison River. Close to West Yellowstone Entrance. Very close hiking access into Wilderness area.
