About this property

New Lakeside Cottage near Okemo and Killington

Bright, clean cottage right in the middle of the best of Vermont. Perfect for an athletic family or a couples getaway. Swim and boat from a private dock, walk or bike along the quiet wooded road. A short car ride takes you to skiing, golfing, horseback riding or just about any other Vermont activity you desire.

Or stay home! Relax in a rocker on the back porch overlooking Lake Amherst where it feels cool even on the warmest days. But there are lots of nice places to curl up, on warm days or cold.

Downstairs is an open kitchen-dining-living room with a double glass slider to make the most of the lake view. The kitchen has the cooking basics, plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and a dishwasher. There is also a grill and a supply of skewers and other grill essentials if you choose to cook al fresco. There is no powder room on the main floor.

The master bedroom overlooks the lake. Full brass bed, new Casper mattress, and full bath with tub. The second bedroom has a woodland view. Full bed, new Casper mattress. The den is "cosy" and without much view, but there's a flat-screen TV and a futon couch that unfolds into full bed. The second bathroom has a shower.

In the shed you'll find bikes of dubious vintage and 2 decent kayaks. Also lots of rafts, noodles, and floats. I have nothing to do with this - the collection keeps growing without my help.

I love this little house, and I hope you will too.

The house is 10min away from Okemo and Killington, best location for skiing. Our host is also very responsible and nice! Definitely recommend for everyone.

Great alternative to staying on okemo
Overall great stay. Place just needs a deeper clean. Found lots of food in couches, some in footon. Some garbage left behind in basement. Some pillows had staining. All the non stick pans should be not used because of coatings being badly scratched/damaged. Better off buying stainless steel only for rentals which the did have a few. That is being picky and most are easy corrections. But bathrooms, kitchen, and overall clealiness was good.

Great winter getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy home. The location was quiet and peaceful but close enough to town if we needed to run out. For those with lot of ski gear, there isn't a large mudroom or ski closet, but there is a regular coat closet just inside the door. Furniture and kitchen utensils weren't the latest and greatest, but everything we needed was there. We are thinking about returning in the summer to enjoy the lake!
