The Farm on West Dry Creek Road

Bedrooms 1
Space 26 m²
Property type studio
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

In the heart of the wine country, a golden room with private bath and a hot tub just outside on the deck overlooking the vineyards of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, California. Separated from the main house, high up on a second floor over a quiet Feldenkrais studio, behind the garage, it has it's own entrance and much aerie, your own private heaven. The eyes meet with dramatic views of the valley floor with Geyser Peak in the distance.

A rural area, internet is limited. We provide a relaxing getaway meant for restoration of your body and spirit. If internet is a top priority, we are not a good fit.

What a wonderful place to stay for local events! Find yourselves one mile from the Vineman bike route, three miles from Lake Sonoma, nine miles from Healdsburg, where you can rent a kayak for kayaking down the Russian River or rent a bike to go biking in the Dry Creek Valley, and also located within walking or biking distance of numerous wineries for an exquisite wine tasting experience.

Winter brings a more quiet time and our farm can become a secluded restorative hideaway for rest and relaxation. Reading, long walks in the fresh air, contemplation and clarification...all are possible..

You may hear occasional sounds of tractors, roosters, dogs & cats. You'll be on a small farm.

About Charlotte Chavez

We are a 70 year-old married couple who work at their own businesses. Stan manages small vineyards and Charlotte is a Feldenkrais Practitioner.

We have lived here for over 25 years and this is our most favorite spot in all the world!

Charlotte Chavez purchased this studio in 1986

Why Charlotte Chavez chose Healdsburg

Stan built this vacation rental over Charlotte's studio and connected to a garage so that we could have room for family and friends when they visit.

What makes this studio unique

Walks in the vineyards, kayaking out at the lake, bike riding, wine tasting, wonderful local restaurants and a great Farmer's Market! Plus lots of things to do in the nearby towns of Healdsburg, Geyserville, and Cloverdale!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

David and I had a great time and really enjoyed getting to know you and Stan. Sitting on the deck eating breakfast as the sun came up, looking out at the incredible view of the vineyards and mountains, and then being in the hot tub at night under the enormous blanket of stars are memories I'll always cherish. It was perfect!

We look forward to going back again.

Thank you for sharing your home (and pooches!) with us!

Relaxing and scenic spot!

The studio is very comfortable. Charlotte and Stan thought of everything. The muffins and fruit in the morning were the icing on the cake.

We enjoyed the warmth of the hot tub while experiencing the full harvest moon--it was lovely!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for the second time just recently. It remains a lovely, intimate getaway, and Charlotte and Stan remain wonderful hosts. There's nothing quite like waking up to hot croissants and having breakfast overlooking the neighboring vineyards and farms. I have a feeling we'll be coming back!

Lovely getaway

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. The studio is quite clean and highly functional. Full bathroom with plenty of room. Charlotte and Stan were gracious and helpful. We even had good cell phone reception which can be a little spotty in dry creek valley. (Verizon).

Only caveat to note is that there is no TV - so bring your ipad for after dark reading / movies.

The location can't be beat if you enjoy dry creek wineries. Convenient to Geyeserville eats (Diavolo) and Healdsburg via the highway.

Thanks again!

Great place! Great hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

Located in a perfect spot accessible to so many wineries including a short drive to Healdsburg and an even shorter drive to Geyserville. The furry four legged greeting was a nice way to start and end the day! Thanks for sharing some wine. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing and exactly what I wanted from my wine tasting weekend in Healdsburg.

  • 5 of 5

Charolette and Stan were such amazing hosts. If you're looking for a nice get away then this is a great spot. They have two dogs which were very friendly and they will bring you muffins and fruit each morning with a very good homemade jam. The view from the place you stay at is such a great thing to wake up in the morning to. My stay was 5/5 stars and I would highly recommend this spot. If you are planning a wine tasting weekend then you're in a great area.

Thank you for the nice stay.
