Cottage on a Working Texas Cattle Ranch

Come and enjoy the serenity and beauty of our restored and decorated vacation cottage. The cottage is situated on our working cattle and horse ranch with views of beautiful hills and pastures.

The single cottage bedroom sleeps two adults on one queen-sized bed and the living room can accommodate one or two children on an inflatable air mattress.

The kitchen is culinary designed, fully equipped, and spacious.

Dogs only with prior approval. Contact us first, thanks. TV with DVD player only (no channels). Bring your own DVDs.

The dining area has a pass through bar opening into living room and TV/sitting area. The single bedroom is large with a spacious closet, and the bathroom is has a garden Jacuzzi bathtub, and shower. There is a washer/dryer laundry area in the kitchen.

We care for a healthy herd of horses, cattle, and donkeys. The cottage lies within a 21 acre hay meadow, allowing you to bring your horses. We provide the water trough. Enjoy the beauty of a sunrise, or sunset from the large open deck from the front of the cottage and the view of a stand of oaks up the hill.

Conveniently located one hour from the Austin airport and 30 miles south of Bastrop, guests can take advantage of Austin's eclectic food, hip music scene including the SXSW music event, Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL), as well as shopping, antiquing and events in the well-known historic towns of Smithville, Flatonia, Gonzales, and Lockhart. FORMULA ONE is a drive along beautiful back country roads to the race track.

Off the beaten track and away from city limits, you will enjoy our peaceful place. For anyone looking for a quiet environment for work or relaxation, we welcome you. Our most recent improvement? A brand new 18K BTU HVAC unit to keep you cool in the summer!

Cute cabin in the country
We loved the cabin. It was so cute and clean and we can definitely see ourselves staying there again. The sunrise & sunset is gorgeous. I’d recommend going when it’s cool so you can enjoy the patio. The location ended up being a little further from a nearby town than we expected. We wanted to watch the Houston Astros so we found a place in Waelder which was about 10 minutes away. We also thought the land would be more open, but we were fenced in and close to the road. It worked out for our dogs to run around (and the neighbors dogs to come visit as well). We will definitely be more prepared next time before arriving and have all of our food with us! Overall we really enjoyed it. It’s peaceful and a cute, clean place!

Relaxing & Lots Of Character
We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. The cottage is lovely and well equipped. Both my wife and I had amazing nights of sleep, the bed was super comfortable. We cooked two meals there and the kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. We went for a nice walk with our two Greyhounds on the owners ranch and met their donkey's which was awesome. Our dogs were not quite sure what to make of them. We were also very happy to meet the owners, they are very friendly and endlessly helpful when I'd text or call with questions. We will definitely be going back in the next few months for another visit. I'd highly recommend it!
