Chelsea Corner - Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario

Bedrooms 3
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

At 189 Mary Street, Chelsea Corner graces the south west corner of Simcoe and Mary Streets in the heart of Niagara-on-the Lake's "old town".

Chelsea Corner sleeps 4 to 6 comfortably. It's perfect for 2 or 3 couples, a family of 4 to 6 or a "girls" theatre/spa weekend. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a generous main floor living room, dining room and country kitchen offer guests the feeling of "home away from home".

The house has a charming south-facing wrap-around veranda, an ideal place to enjoy morning coffee, or a glass of wine as you catch the last evening rays of the sun and the yard is a gardener's delight surrounded by a grand old magnolia, tulips, daffodils, honeysuckle and lilacs in the spring.

The driveway off Simcoe Street easily accommodates up to six cars so there is ample parking.

The property is a five minute walk from the amenities of the Pillar and Post Inn, the Oban Inn, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Course by the Lake and the downtown shopping district, theatres and galleries.

Great experience at this charming house

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a 4-day gal pal getaway at Chelsea Cottage. All six of us really enjoyed this house. It is sufficiently spacious, well furnished, very clean, well equipped with kitchen staples, and we had lots of linens and towels. Two bathrooms, one on each floor, are relatively newly renovated. Both have tubs; only the lower level one has a shower. Two bedrooms are comfortable...queen beds. The third bedroom is smaller with bunk beds.

Note - this house is great for a small family, or two couples, or up to five adults. I would say that the sleeping arrangements were too tight for six.

We took full advantage of the wrap around porch for leisurely casual morning breakfasts and and evening cocktails. House is well stocked with DVDS and games.

The house is in a great location...easily located, great for walking through the beautiful surrounding neighbourhood, half a block from a lovely bakery and a fantastic restaurant and very easy walking access to Queen (main) Street for shops, dining, theatre and park areas.

The manager, Jamie, was very helpful to us as we arrived and for one minor request while we visited. We would definitely return to Chelsea House (with a lesser number of persons)

Canada day

  • 4 of 5

We had our daughter's wedding near by and this location was convenient and accessible even on such a busy holiday. Lots of room and conveniences so some very busy days ran very smoothly

Charming home, great visit!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Chelsea Corner! The house was very charming, and fit the 6 of us well. The only thing that could have made it better was to have a second shower upstairs instead of just a tub, but we established a schedule that worked ok; at least we did have two bathrooms to use for everything else. Jamie was very helpful with suggestions for things to do/places to eat and coupons for wine tours/tastings, and graciously allowed us to take over her living room in her bed and breakfast next door the last day with our luggage so we didn't have to leave it in the car all day, as we weren't leaving until later that night. The welcome note with the bottles of wine and sparkling water were a nice touch.

While it was a bit of a walk to town, it was certainly doable and a little exercise never hurt anyone. All the homes are so pretty, it was fun to get a closer look at the area. It was closer than many of the others we looked at that were large enough to accommodate our family, and the price was very reasonable for what you get.

Highly recommend Niagara-on-the-Lake as a great place for a vacation, especially for wine-lovers, and Chelsea Corner as a wonderful place to stay while visiting.
