Townhome, 3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
- english, dutch
We are a family of five from the UK and Orlando is our favorite destination for holidays. Our ages range from age 17 to adult and we have found that there is plenty to entertain us all here. We're too big now to fit comfortably into a hotel room and prefer to stay in our own holiday home which we share with guests.
Ruth-Owner purchased this Townhome in 2010
Why Ruth-Owner chose Orlando
After visiting Orlando on MANY occasions to visit the theme parks we saw the Tuscan Themed Vista Cay resort in the course of construction and decided that this was THE location for a holiday home. It is so convenient. We could not imagine driving in from Kissimmee each day particularly in the Florida summer! Being so close to the restaurants of International Drive and Sand Lake Road in the evening also saves plenty of travelling.
What makes this Townhome unique
There is space and privacy for everyone in our home with each bedroom having an ensuite bathroom. The open plan living space means that everyone can come together for food and entertainment with TV, Wii, music and games.

vista cay stay
This condo was clean. It had the basics you need to start - toilet paper, paper towel, soap, dish soap, even 1 dishwasher and laundry pod. The wifi and cable tv worked well. It does have pots/pans/utensils/coffee maker and dishes. It does lack items that I have had in other rented condos like salt and pepper and some basic spices, baking mix, tea bags or coffee so plan your shopping accordingly. It has plenty of towels and wash cloths. The pool was wonderful. We were there prior to school ending so it was not over full, lots of space to swim. The first week of May does contain many love bugs, so be prepared. The condo unit in early May was nicely quiet so you can sleep in. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
I am so pleased that my guest enjoyed her stay at Vista Cay and my Townhome in particular. She is correct in stating that foodstuffs are not provided. I have also found some rentals where previous guests have left basics and the housekeepers have allowed them to remain for the next guest to use. Both I and my professional property managers have decided not to do this in view of the risk ( albeit small) of the food causing another guest’s illness or allergic reaction.
Good location but some minor issues
The location of the property was great. The address on VRBO is incorrect, so we wasted 45 minutes trying to find Tidewater Drive not Tideview Drive. Pay attention to the final email, not the VRBO site! If you like sleeping in a hammock, you'll be fine with the beds. If you like even semi-firm mattresses, this is not the property for you. The two queen mattresses and all pillows were very, very soft, and I departed with a sore neck and my husband with a sore back. You might consider bringing your own towels, as what's provided are thin and very small. No closet in the master. The washer and dryer are in what appears to have been the original closet, so there's only room to hang some short items above them. Otherwise, plenty of space and a reasonably stocked kitchen.
Vista Cay is a great location for all that Orlando has to offer. The exact address is emailed along with Gate and Door codes and does not appear on the VRBO site.
The pillows are replaced regularly and Beds and Mattresses were replaced in 2018. They are all medium softness which suits most guests.
Towels are in normal bath, hand and washcloth sizes. There are also large pool towels. If SPA type towels are required then please feel free to bring them along. Unfortunately there is insufficient time to wash and dry them in the house between guests which is why we cannot provide them.
There is a second closet in the hallway for the use of this room which has longer hanging space. Shorter items can be stored above the washer dryer.
The upstairs master has a large walk in wardrobe.
Lovely townhome in Orlando!
Ruth- thank you for allowing us to spend time at your lovely townhome! It had all the comforts of home and was a nice oasis for us to return to after our day's activities. The location is perfect- close to the multitudes of restaurants nearby and easy to get to Disney, Universal, Cape Canaveral, and St. Augustine. My guys enjoyed golfing nearby. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation (and the weather cooperated!)
So pleased to hear this Karen.
It was nice and clean and close to everything we wanted to see. We would stay here again.
Nice layout, a little worn. Location to the Convention Center is fantastic
Overall, everything was good
A house represents fantastic value over a hotel for the business traveller and our proximity to the convention Center is unrivalled. This guests comments about the house being a little worn refer to a small issue which is easily fixed. I encourage all visitors to give honest feedback to myself or my property managers so that we can stay on the top of our game.
Excellent place to stay near the Convention Center/ International Drive.
This Vista Cay unit was very clean and comfortable. Communication with Owner and property managers was very good. Highly recommended!
Very central area for all theme parks, shopping and restaurants. Super close to Seaworld, Aquatica and Universal parks. You get a great view of he fireworks at Seaworld from the pool area. Although the resort has a quiet atmosphere there is very easy access to freeways for Disney, the coast and airports.
Shoppers will enjoy searching the nearby premium outlets for good deals and both the Florida Mall and upscale Mall at Millenia are also within easy reach.
Golfers must check out the newly remodelled course at Shingle Creek which is just opposite the resort and is as picturesque as it is challenging.
Families are well catered for with theme parks galore, but for a slightly different day out the coast at Cocoa Beach is only an hours drive away. Great surf for body boarding and we recommend the free parking at Lori Wilson Park which also has beach restrooms and showers.
International Drive has a whole selection of restaurants and attractions but for something a bit different try Sandlake Road. The Dr Phillips area here has the restaurants and shops that the locals use. From fine dining to great breakfast restaurants it's all here.
