About this property

Cozy Hilltop Home With Views of the Sandwich Range.

Quiet and cozy rural hilltop house on 36 acres, surrounded by blueberry field and forests with wood and back roads to explore. Two bedroom, full bath, full kitchen with eat in dining overlooking the mountains. Sunny screened breakfast patio to enjoy with morning coffee.

Nearby hiking in the Sandwich Range Wilderness Area, numerous natural areas, and 15 minutes to swimming at Bear Camp Pond and Chocorua Lake.
Peaceful and quiet, yet close to Tamworth Village and all that it offers. This is a place for you to unwind and get away from technology for a bit! The house does not have WiFi but there are lots of options in the village to access WiFi in a comfy chair at the library, or over a cup of coffee and food at the Other Bakery.

A landline phone is available. Cell service may vary depending on carrier. A variety of DVD's are available at the local library in town if you need an evening or rainy day movie to play on your computer!

Surrounding towns (N. Conway, Sandwich, Moultonboro, Wolfeboro) have a variety of activities for all ages. The Squam Lake Science Center is always a highlight for kids (Holderness) and is only 1/2 hour away.

Be sure to be in touch if you would like more ideas for things to do. We hope you will enjoy the silence, sights, and sounds of the surrounding forests and trails.

Wonderful relaxing spot
We had an amazing stay here! The very first thing we noticed when we arrived was how clean everything was, which was very much appreciated. The cabin was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and almost every thing you night need for a short stay is there. The wood stove was the true star as it was snowy & cold a few days we were there. The walking trails around the cabin are great, and most everything was a short drive away (we never had to drive further than 30mins for anything, lots of things are within 15-20mins). The privacy & the breathtaking mountain views from the big picture windows can't be beat. We look forward to staying again in the future!

Great stay in a fantastic location
I stayed here for two weeks and really enjoyed the house, the property, and all the surrounding area. The place is near many hiking trails and other outdoor activities that I enjoyed. The lack of wifi was great for me as I was looking to disconnect for a bit. Loved all the books on nature and local history that were in the house as well. Definitely recommend!

Magical getaway
The house is nestled on a beautiful valley with stunning views. I was very happy that there was NO wireless and that there was a great collection of naturalist books. The house is spotless with all amenities -- yuppies will find it 'not updated.'

I am a naturalist and educator, passionate about the natural world.

Why they chose this property

The house and land belonged to my grandparents, then my parents, and is now owned by my siblings and me. We grew up spending summers here, and have lived at the house longer term off and on as adults at different times. The house, the lands and the Tamworth community hold a special place in our hearts.
The views of the ever changing mountains in front of the house , and the numerous places to walk from the door provide a quiet place to relax.

What makes this property unique

The house is simple and comfortable and offers a place to unplug and relax. There are amazing community trails in addition to the trails in the White Mountain Forest and Sandwich Range Wilderness. Local swimming spots (Chocorua Lake, White Lake State Park, and Bearcamp Pond) allow for cool swims and places to paddle in the heat of summer.
Tamworth is a small but thriving community with a wonderful farmers market (often with music!), events at the Lyceum and Remick Farm Museum and other nearby venues. The Other Bakery in town provides for community gathering over coffee, lunch, baked goods and sometimes music.
The local library has events for kids, provides free wi-fi and is a wonderful resource for a short or long term visit.
