About the property

8 Bedrooms, 6 Baths, Sleeps 10

In a gated community near the beach, this palatial 5,800 sqft mansion sleeps 10 in luxurious accommodations that include an elevator, designer gourmet kitchen, theatre room, game room with pool table & bar, enormous screened lanai with heated pool, spa & summer kitchen.

With each new space you enter at Versailles by the Sea, you'll be amazed all over again. There simply isn't an ordinary room -- love and a designer's eye have been lavished to make each area uniquely beautiful, from coffered ceilings to crown molding, graceful archways to smooth tiled floors and Viking appliances.

Step outside onto the paver patio and you're in a lanai with an atrium ceiling open to the brilliant blue Florida sky. Simply immense, this space encompasses a fully stocked summer kitchen, lounging area, teardrop-shaped swimming pool with gradual step entrance, safety fence, shower, & heated spa. Need a place for the kids to kick a ball around? There's a big grassy lawn, too!

And the best part about Versailles by the Sea? There's no "worst" bedroom! King-sized beds grace every room except 2, and these are children's rooms, one with 2 sets of queen-sized bunks and the other with 1 set of doubles. No matter how big your family reunion or how many friends suddenly appear to join you at the beach, everyone will be comfortable here!

On the first floor are 2 bedrooms, including the master with a king bed, daybed, and lovely en suite bathroom offering a big soaking tub and walk-in shower. The second bedroom has 1 king, and each room (as well as all the other bedrooms at Versailles by the Sea) has an HDTV. Warm-toned colors, plenty of sunny windows, and restful décor make these rooms irresistible!

Also on the first floor is the huge, welcoming living room, with entertainment center, and sliding glass doors onto the lanai. With enough space for the whole gang to gather, this is a terrific spot to indulge in those late-night storytelling sessions that make such great memories. (Our wine room and wet bar are at hand too, to keep the conversation lively!)

The kitchen and dining areas will tempt even the most committed restaurant aficionado to whip up a homemade feast one evening. Fitted with brand-new Viking appliances, granite countertops, custom wooden cabinetry, and plenty of workspaces, our kitchen is a chef's dream come true. In the cupboards, you'll find all the cookware, utensils, and dishes necessary to prepare and serve many courses. And this kitchen is perfect for multiple cooks -- plenty of elbow room for the bakers, sous chefs, and bartenders in your group!

The dining room is a gorgeous space with a modern chandelier, and for less formal moments, our breakfast nook in a sun-drenched corner is a great way to wake-up in the morning!

Upstairs (take the elevator or the stairs!) you'll find 5 more bedrooms, a splendid theatre room with stadium seating recliners and a full-screen, and a big entertainment center with a pool table and custom bar! And when it's time for a quieter moment, a long balcony overlooks the surrounding landscape of old-growth oaks and palms, from which birds fly in morning and evening.

The children in your group will love the 2 big bedrooms devoted just to them, with multiple bunkbeds, TVs, and a "clubhouse" atmosphere just right for those intense games of make-believe. Three more bedrooms each have a king bed, with luxe bathrooms to match and private balconies off 2 rooms.

It's all oceanside beside the dunes that border the coquina-shell sands of the Cinnamon Beach. The kids will spend hours exploring, and their parents and grandparents will love discovering new areas to relax and reconnect.

Treat yourself to an unforgettably luxurious vacation at Versailles by the Sea! Note: fireplace is non-working.

Very disappointing

  • 1 of 5

This house is beautiful but had a lot of issues. After reading reviews and feeling reluctant we decided to rent. We spoke with the management and discussed our concerns ahead of time and were told they had all been addressed. Upon arrival the outdoor grill wasn't working. It took 3 days before we got a small gas grill delivered to use. We were promised a refund if $300 but it took 6 months a lot of phone calls etc. the management is not fun to work with. The pool sticks were broke and had to be replaced. The inside stove had problems as well. It's huge and beautiful but a lot of issues. Not worth the trouble. They need new management!

Great Property, Terrible Property Company

  • 2 of 5

I loved this property-- it is large and spacious and pretty. However, the property company (Vacation Rental Pros) was awful. There are pictures of the resort enticing us, and we were told over the phone over and over that we would have access to the resort. They were specific that I would ONLY have access to the resort where my property was. But I would DEFINITELY have access. While there, we called several times to ask about access to the resort and would never get a call returned. Finally we approached the resort on Thursday to be told that Vacation Rental Pros has been lying to its customers for 11 years and their customers have NEVER had access to the resort. When we returned home, I called again and was told that oh, all of a sudden as of February 17 there is no more access. I asked that my amenities fee be refunded. I was put in touch with a manager that told me that I could have used a resort but not the one connected to my property . WHAT!?! I am sure I will not get my money back. Also. For an extremely hefty cleaning fee, there should not be layers of dust in the bed room and cobwebs on the ceiling and grease dripping from the stove’s vented hood. Ick. And finally, we were also charged decent damage fee (which I understand) but it is non-refundable (which I don’t understand). After all of the extra fees-- amenities fee when we couldn’t use the amenities, damage fee when we did no damage, and huge cleaning fee for a dusty house-- I am not sure this property was worth it. The owners of this property would be well served to find another agency to rent their property for them.

The overall appearance of the house in nice. However after checking in we found several maintenance issues. The first night we were there we had to call about light bulbs being out. One bathroom did not have a working light, which was minor however we were using that bathroom. The entire stairwell was dark, all 7 can lights didn't work. Over the course of the night 5 people slipped or fell on the stairs because it was too dark to see.

We wanted to use the pool on our 2nd day there but couldn't because it wasn't heated. On the website it states there is a heated pool and spa. Well after a phone call we were told that the pool won't heat if the outside temperature is under 50 degrees. Had we known this prior to booking we would have looked for a home that could heat the pool regardless of temp, or at the very least it would have been nice to have known that was a gamble we were taking when we booked the property. I emailed Steve Milo directly about this and have yet to get a response. We could not use the pool until Tuesday night, halfway through our stay.

The other major issue was with the grill. Only 2 of the 4 burners worked and the 2 that did work, didn't work very well. Maintenance came out but said they had to call the grill people, who then came out later that day and took pictures. The maintenance man said they would bring a portable grill but they didn't. That was the last we heard or saw anyone about the grill. With a group of 14 people you need more than 2 burners.

In one of the reviews I read before booking the property it stated that the outdoor fireplace didn't work. When I spoke to Steve Milo before booking the house he said that this was his property and it was fixed. Any maintenance issues get fixed right away. We could not get the outdoor fireplace to work so I called. I was told that neither of the fireplaces could be used for insurance purposes.

Needless to say we were left disappointed with this home and vacation rental pros. I expected general wear and tear on the home, I did not expect a lack of service. When the website says heated pool and spa, fully stocked summer kitchen, and indoor & outdoor fireplaces, you expect them to be operable. This home has potential but maintenance and housekeeping need to step up their game. We did enjoy the theater room and the pool once heated.

Perfect home!

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family stayed here, not only was it large enough but very comfortable! Had a great time with the children and their families while having enough space for alone time. Very clean and so close to the beach and the pool and hot tub what more could you ask for!?! Family movie time was awesome with the media room. Close drive to parks, attractions in St. Augustine. Would definitely stay here again!

Just as advertised

  • 5 of 5

The home looks smaller online than in person. It is really large and very comfortably spread out. We had 11 guys on golf trip and we all had plenty of room to spread out and relax. We watched a couple of movies in the theater and it was really a treat. Great place to stay and would go back anytime.
