About this property

Victorian Home On North Beach. Incredible Panoramic Views Of Lake Michigan.

The Victorian House on the North Beach was built in 1890. It is one of the original beach houses in historic Monroe Park. In fact, the home is depicted on a plaque which is located at the Monroe Park just up the street. Although modern on the inside, it retains much of the charm of the period. It boasts 4 bedrooms (one on main floor), two and a quarter baths, (both on first floor), house sleeps 12, and has a large verandah where many guests have spent breezy Lake Michigan evenings reconnecting with family and friends, near 180 degree views of Lake Michigan, window air conditioners, and a bathtub and shower in the upstairs bath.

There is a sitting area overlooking the beach with expansive views of the Lake from the master bedroom.

Enclosed screened porch off of the dining room, also facing the beach, affords additional lovely views. A full-sized futon was recently added to this porch, transforming it into a sleeping porch by night for those guests who want to capture cool Lake breezes and fall asleep to the gentle rolling waves of the Lake.

Gorgeous sunsets and within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. The Black River is just down the street. Easy walk to the North Beach lighthouse. Parking for 2 cars provided in carport. Beach stickers can be purchased from City Hall for additional parking in front of the house, or purchased daily from the pay station on the North Beach in front of the house.

There is a child's playground on the North Beach, and a kayak launch with kayak rentals on the beach was recently added by the City two years ago. The city also added a boardwalk leading to the Lake which is handicap accessible.

Comcast cable and internet, dishwasher and laundry facilities included. Linens and bath towels included. Please bring your own beach towels. Beach folding chairs included.

Fully stocked kitchen with microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, dishes, utensils, etc.

Bunk beds for kids, queen bed in master, full bed downstairs. Board games and toys provided for children. Make memories for your children and grandchildren!

A propane grill and a portable campfire are also included for your use.

Weekly rentals only during the summer season., and run from Saturday to Saturday. Two night minimum rentals considered during the low season, including early June and late August, depending upon availability. Discounted rates available during mid to late May and late September and October. ***PLEASE NOTE: ***The house has NO central source of heat, but is well-insulated and plenty of blankets as well as portable heaters and a fireplace heater are provided so that Autumn nights are cozy. Rentals are not taken after the third weekend in October.

Check in on the day of arrival is 4 pm and check out is at noon on the day of departure, to ensure our cleaning service has sufficient time to clean and disinfect the home between guests.

Weekly rentals for the summer of 2021 will start to be taken after November16, 2020, but definitely not before.

Come and enjoy direct access to this wide and sandy beach and make memories for your children and grandchildren!

Great location! Honest Review Ahead!!
There's not enough space for me to write a full review my original review was over the limit. The owner is nice but I found the house to be overwhelming. There's notes, clutter, and the house is just not well maintained. For example, there's mold around the sinks, rotting deck boards, weeds all over, layers of dust and piles of sand under the couch. Our first night was a 99 degree day, it was very hot in the house even with all the ACs going, we ended up driving home the first night. There's no AC in the bottom bedroom- only fans. The 3rd bathroom is literally just a toliet with a note that says not to use toliet paper, maybe 4 square feet. There's notes everywhere, don't do this don't do that. When you check out there's quite the list including; taking out the trash, recycle, wiping down the fridge, washing, drying, and putting away all towels to name a few. This should be in the listing or emailed out before arrival. I would have done things differently. I know this wasn't followed upon our arrival, there was trash, recycle, stuff in the freezer, not a wiped down counter and there was random pieces of trash throughout the house. Plus the cleaner was about 40 minutes late and folding towels. If you're looking for a budget friendly house, this is a good option, but be prepared. In hindsight, I wish I would have brought all my own towels and linens but I would not rent here again. Hell of a view though!

It was wonderful being in a true beach house for our stay. The original and authentic aspect really added to the beachside, relaxing feel. The location is the best for beach access, sunsets, and overall lazy day relaxations. We loved it.
