weekend get away
Cabin is very nice. Heed the 4x4 warning! Great location and if the weather would have cooperated, I'm sure the star gazing would have been amazing at that location.

Great do-over
We stayed last year to checkout the dark skies in midwinter but had completely overcast skies. This was a great do-over. Benn was accommodating again as he was last year. The property is in a great location. Extremely peaceful and a great getaway spot. We had clear skies and the best star view ever.

Wonderful location
Wish we had more than just the weekend to explore the area. So much to do close by that we didnt have time for. But our daughter got a wonderful picture of the milkyway taken from the platform in the field, so she was thrilled. The cabin was nice. Would stay again.

Comfortable farmhouse
Fun hikes, friendly (though very few) people and a beautiful peaceful setting. We were a little bummed to not get to stay in the original house we booked, with an observation tower (we were switched to the owners farmhouse because the original property needed repairs), but with smoke from Canadian fires and nearly full moons (novice stargazer here) it was very hard to stargaze anyways. My kids especially enjoyed the backyard fire pit and making s’mores. Remember to bring towels for all different purposes: we remembered bath towels but forgot dish towels, small towels to dry our hands in the bathrooms and washcloths. Woops! In any case, we had a great stay!!

I was born and raised in Potter County. After meeting my wife and graduating from college we moved back to the area. The previous owner of Valley Vista of 35 years is a dear friend. After he decided to move closer to family and milder climates we were offered the Lodge to make our own memories.

We currently live and raise our family on a sheep farm in Potter County. We strive to provide a childhood of years gone past for our three children

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property as our retirement home. We had looked at building a home with a similar view but Valley Vista came on the market and we loved the location and layout. The privacy and quiet provides a peaceful setting

What makes this property unique

The gorgeous views both from the tower and lodge porch make Vista unique. Anything from stars to sunsets and wildlife in between. The Lodge sits on top of a ridge bordering 250,000 acres of State Forest with hiking trails and old roads to explore.
