Situated in Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Columbia Mountain Lodge is a bright and stylish 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom mountain home with superb mountain views and located close to the ski trails and bars and restaurants. Columbia Mountain Lodge is neatly laid out over three floors and comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests in XL king/split twin beds. Columbia Mountain Lodge is particularly suited for families and groups.

The lodge is complete with the features you would expect in a luxury chalet including open plan living, fully equipped kitchen, Netflix, DVD/BlueRay, mp3/ipod station, high speed internet, internal and external wood burning fireplaces, BBQ, hot tub, ski room with boot warmers and heated double garage. Four out of the five bedrooms can be configured as kings or twin XL beds which makes this attractive home very flexible and suitable for families and groups.

The lodge is only a short walk to the slopes and main gondola with ski in to the lodge in normal snow conditions.

Enter this charming chalet at the basement level where there is a large coat and shoe closet. You will also find the first of two luxury en-suite master bedrooms with king/twin XL beds and DVD player, as well as a further bedroom with twin XLbeds, separate shower room and laundry room.

A wide staircase runs up the centre of the property from the entrance hall and brings you to the open plan main floor level with wood flooring. From here the dining area is straight ahead, the kitchen is to your left and the sunken living room is to the right. The stairs to the upper level carry on with large picture windows providing plenty of natural light up the stairwell.

The spacious fully equipped kitchen, with custom cabinets and granite work surfaces has all the amenities you would expect in a luxury home including range, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker and generous cooking utensils and table ware. There is a large granite surfaced central island which doubles as a breakfast bar and a separate comfy reading chair. There are French doors from the kitchen accessing on to the rear patio where seating is provided in the summer season. The kitchen is stocked with basic essentials such as tea, coffee, condiments, spices, oils etc.

The dining space, with ample seating, connects the kitchen to the lounge area and offers stunning panoramic views over the Columbia Valley.

The luxurious sunken living room features a wood burning fireplace, a vast sectional sofa, flat screen TV with Netflix, Blue Ray & DVD and an Ipod/MP3 dock. Guests can access the outdoor hot tub and fireplace through a side door leading to the rear patio.

There are three luxury bedrooms on the upper level: the second en-suite master bedroom with king/XL twin beds and stunning panoramic views, DVD player plus two further king/twin XL bedrooms and the family bathroom.

Outside, guests can soak in the hot tub in front of a log burning fire place which is accessed from the living room or kitchen. There is nothing quite like relaxing in the hot tub watching the stars above: even better if there is light snowfall. There is also a BBQ which guests can use throughout the year.

Inside the heated double garage there is a dedicated area for ski/board storage with ski rack, heated boot warmers, benches and rubber matting. Access to this area is from both inside and outside the lodge.

The heated garage provides parking for 2 cars and there is parking on the drive for at a further 4 cars.

Columbia Valley View House

9 of us stayed here for a ski vacation in mid February. We loved the house. The 5 bedrooms were comfortable, the 4 bathrooms gave us room to spread out but the best part was the large kitchen. It has lots of counter space and more than enough cooking utensils to prepare any meal. We also made good use of the Hot Tub- after a day of Kicking Horse steeps it was very welcome relaxation! The garage had room for 2 cars, all skis and poles and enough boot driers for all of us.

The owner was very good to deal with. There were a couple minor snags that she dealt with immediately so they did not become issues. Especially impressive given her location.

In town, we particularly liked the Whitetooth Bistro. Excellent food and service.

This place makes you feel like home

We stayed there for 4 nights. All 10 people in the group, ranging from 70s to 5 year old, absolutely loved the stay. It's like our own house. You get EVERYTHING here, ranging from big things like Jacuzzi, gas grill, to small things like soy source and other spice to make Chinese food. And there are many entertainment activities: games, like puzzles, and DVD, and so on.

Plus, the communication with the owner was really smooth.

Highly recommended.

Great Mountain House

My family and I had a great stay for my Mom's 60th birthday! The house easily fit our large family. Due to smoke from the nearby fires we didn't use the hot tub but did enjoy the outdoor grill. The house is about 10-15 minutes from town which was great. When the smoke wasn't bad we enjoyed the beautiful views! The house is a 2 minute walk to the ski resort and lifts. The only problem we had was the satellite not working, which we really didn't plan to use often. Thanks for a memorable trip!!
