Of course with the beautiful views available from the house it is located on a higher incline so in winter we ask that you have four wheel drive or all wheel drive. We do maintain and keep the driveway plowed and salted between 4 and 6 inches. If we get a major storm, please have patience because are snowplower can get very busy. He will get there.

Views views views!!

We stayed for a quick ski weekend. Only about 25 minutes to Bretton Woods. House was clean and had everything we needed. Kitchen well stocked and easy to prepare a meal in. Only downside was there is no place to have a family meal. There is a small table tucked in the corner but you would need to pull it out, remove the lamp and book collection on it to seat more than 2. Even if you did there would not be room to get around it. There is a bar area but it was tight for four and two of the stools were counter height not bar height so not too comfortable for eating. Dining space would not be an issue in warm weather as dining would take place outside on the beautiful deck. Beds were comfortable, plenty of firewood and the owner was friendly and helpful. I’d stay again but in warmer weather to enjoy the deck and take in those views!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. As per the table we wanted the space to have more room. We didn't want to take away from the open floor concept. This said we appreciate your input and might try to find a place to put one. As you saw, in the summer most people want to sit around the outside table and have dinner under the beautiful stars. Maybe we could get one and just make it available in the winter. I am glad everything else worked out and if you liked the views in the colder season, just imagine what they look like in the summer. The mountains are stunning. Thanks again. Kate and Gary

Presidential Views Indeed!

  • 5 of 5

My family had the pleasure of staying at this property for a week in February. We invited our good friends to join us. The house was very comfortably and held 4 adults and 4 kids with plenty of room to spare. We didn't even make use of the upper loft area. Some of the highlights for us:

The View - The house sits up on the side of a hill providing an incredible view of the presidential mountains. Each morning I made sure to get up before the sun so I could take in the sunrise which peaks right over the mountains directly out the front windows. Great way to start the day.

Location - I liked being a little more secluded away from the bustle of the ski areas. It was about a 20 minute drive to either Bretton Woods or Cannon and both drives were beautiful. The property is a very short walk away from the Ammonoosuc River. My kids and I enjoyed our short "hikes" down and along the river and over the 1 lane bridge. Being close to Littleton was very convenient as well. We got our groceries there and took advantage of Main St for dinner at Chang Tai (excellent) as well as a visit to the Chutters for candy.

Amenities - The fireplace is awesome! We ended each ski day with an Apre Ski on the couches in front of the fire with snacks and beverages. The fireplace really warms the place up quickly. I really appreciated the well stocked firewood in the garage. The 2 bedrooms were great for the adults, and the lower bedroom with the bunk beds gave the kids a great play/sleeping area they could call their own. The kitchen area had everything we needed to cook most of our meals on site. Although we didn't need it, I was impressed to see the dual car, high bay garage that we could have stored the cars (even with our car toppers) if we needed to get the vehicles out of the snow.

Owners - We got very quick replies to our booking as well as to emails with a few questions I had. I also received a very detailed document describing the house and providing area recommendations which I found very helpful.

One thing worth noting is that the road up and driveway are fairly steep. With some fresh snow before we arrived we found it quite challenging to navigate with our front wheel drive vehicle. Our guests had 4 wheel drive and had no issues. Just something to be aware of.

Overall I'd highly recommend this property. Great ski vacation location and I imagine it would be equally as enjoyable in warm weather, especially to take advantage of that incredible deck.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful place, views and area. Snowmobile trails 1/4 mile down the road, we road out of the driveway. Satellite internet is fast and Bose radio system made for great back round music. Plenty of room, use of the garage to get your car out of the cold a plus. Plenty of firewood for the awesome fire place and there is even wood for an outdoor fire pit. Well worth the stay and would recommend to anyone.

Lovely view, great fireplace, and very cute decor!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great friend-reunion weekend at Kate and Gary's NH house this weekend. The house is beautiful and the view of the mountains is lovely. We had a lot of fun skiing at Cannon despite it being a little icy - perfect mountain for a very mixed skill level group. The only hiccup with our stay was the gas tank being empty when we arrived, but the owners were great about getting it filled right away so we had heat and hot water within a matter of hours. As far as improvement ideas go, I think the loft would be perfect for a ping pong/ air hockey / pool table, and some more bunk beds could definitely fit in downstairs or in the loft. A hot tub would be a great addition as well. We had a lovely weekend with great company - played lots of board games by the fire at night and skied ourselves sore all day. Thanks for having us!
