This warm and welcoming rental sits on one acre along with the main house, and is surrounded by 100-year-old oaks and pines. Forest on two sides beautifully shields our guests from the outside world. With song birds of all kinds, a lovely garden, and a picturesque flock of hens providing farm fresh eggs (no noisy rooster!), our property truly is a relaxing getaway with all the amenities of the city.
Owners Frank and Becky Thompson live in the lower house with their college-age daughters, their young son age 9 and their miniature golden retriever. Since our rental is a spacious, newly-renovated and furnished 2 bedroom/1 bath over-the-garage apartment, we call it the "Upper House". It has a complete kitchen and laundry, both with all new appliances.
The Upper House features:
Sleeping quarters – Cozy and comfortable pillow top mattresses are on each bed. Soft fine quality bed linens and towels provide all the comforts of home away from home. We have 1 queen bed in the master plus a twin bed in the small bedroom. The living area has a very comfortable couch which can also be used for sleeping if needed.
Kitchen/Laundry/Bathroom – Fully-stocked with all the necessary dishes, utensils and small appliances you would need to prepare meals for your family. New appliances include an oven, refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave and washer and dryer. The bathroom is also completely new with a shower, no tub.
Cable Television & Internet Access – Basic cable and wifi
Exercise & Outdoor Amenities – The gas grill and covered picnic area are available for your personal use by reservation. Our 1-acre property provides many shady spots and children love our swings, garden, playhouse, basketball net and big yard. The neighborhood is an excellent place for a morning power walk or an evening stroll, and we are just a short jog away from a lovely hike-and-bike trails of 2, 3 and 5 miles in length. Two adult bicycles are available to guests. Golf is just 5 minutes away at the beautiful Longwood Golf Club
Parking – We have parking available for two cars. We can accommodate more upon request.
Children – Well-behaved children (on the whole) are always welcome.

NO SMOKING – Smoking is not allowed indoors or out.
NEARBY SHOPPING – 3 major grocery stores 5 minutes away. Walmart, Target, JC Penney and many others are all just 5-10 minutes away. The Fairifeld Outlet Mall is 10 minutes away.
TRANSPORTATION –
HOUSTON MUSEUMS AND THEATERS – Cypress Cinemark is just 5 minutes away. We are a 30 minute drive from the museum/theater district when traffic cooperates.
