About Shannon French

When I was 27 years old, I decided to sell real estate. Shortly after at the age of 29, I decided to open my own brokerage, Southern Trade Realty (Oct. 2006 so you do the math to see how old I am now)! I quickly learned to combine my passion for designing, creating and decorating to another level. I started to invest in real estate at a very young age, and I am still very passionate about it. I really enjoy getting to know my guests and proud to say I now have repeat buisness. I concentrate on making sure my guests are happy and I take pride in the comfort of my properties and of course, the decor has to be just right. Feel free to call me Shannon 804-815-1912.

Why Shannon French chose Gloucester Point

This area is where I personally grew up. I remember the days on the river at a very young age. I fished, crabbed, learned how to swim, relax, kayak, explore and I am still enjoying all of this today with my family and friends.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Pictures cannot even describe this property (many of our guests say this once they arrive). It is one of the most serene places to be. Listening to the waves crash up against the rocks at night, taking a nap in the hammock on a warm summer afternoon, to watching the Osprey on the river, there is not a better place to enjoy nature at it's best. It is all at your fingertips.

The Perfect Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This home was the ideal spot for a reunion of six long-time friends. We found everything we needed for cooking in the spacious kitchen and the living areas were just right for our extended conversations. We all found our beds to be extremely comfortable and appreciated the great care that obviously went into thinking about guest needs. The area is beautiful and we felt like we hit the jackpot with the Gloucester Christmas parade happening the weekend of our visit. This home is a gem!

Home away from Home "well needed"

  • 5 of 5

The French's home was everything plus more. I enjoyed my stay and can't wait to plan another for the family. We chose the home of the French's because we wanted something different than what we usual have plus our home is where my father passed away. The beds were comfortable, the space was wonderful. I really enjoyed my time and stay.

Charming and clean!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of six women from the same parish. Our ladies religious retreat was made even more special by this charming, warm, and comfy farmhouse. It was clean, well stocked, and situated an easy walk to the most beautiful view of the Ware river opening out into the Chesapeake Bay. We couldn't have been more pleased. The owners were friendly and easy to reach via email with questions prior to the trip! We also loved talking to the country store manager just down the road. Pleasant all the way around!!!

Excellent vacation house

  • 5 of 5

We actually love the location a lot. It is by the water. The owner provides plenty of kayaks and even life vests. There is at least one beautiful pier you can access for crabbing and fishing. We were there late August and kids caught crabs and fish and saw schools of sting rays. We just vetured to Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach and spent the rest of time relaxing at the house and by the water. It was so much fun for kids and relaxing for adults. I highly recomend it. The owner Shannon French has been very helpful and kind. I will consider coming back next time.

Perfect retreat for the family!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for 2 nights and we all wished we could have stayed longer! The house is clean and very well maintained. Furnishings and interior design is perfect, providing a cozy contemporary feel while maintaining comfortable and spacious living areas - everyone was impressed! Wish there was a half or full bath upstairs, but that was not an issue. We loved the short walk to the river and pier. We used the kayaks, chairs, and swing while enjoying the picturesque view of the water. The owners are accessible and very friendly, and totally respected our privacy. The wifi inside the house came in handy because cellular service is spotty in the area if you have AT&T or Sprint. Verizon seems to provide the best coverage during our stay - would have been good to have cell service though, for emergency purposes. To many and myself, it is actually a good thing to get off the grid while you relax and enjoy! Overall, I highly recommend this place, and have actually already recommended it to family and friends. We'll be back! Thanks again, Shannon and Corey for accommodating us.
