HOUSE RULES:
If your idea of vacation is peaceful relaxation close to the beach, this is the house for you. We are strict about maintaining a no partying environment.
PRICING:
$850 per night is our base price for large groups. If your group is small (a couple or a small family), please contact me and we can discuss pricing. Every booking includes a cook for all meals (renters pay for meal ingredients directly to cook), daily cleaning service, and laundry service in the house. We can also help you arrange transportation from and to the airport (transportation costs payed separately to the driver).
ABOUT THE HOUSE:
Our beautiful oceanfront family home is located within a private condominium in Mancora, a well-known fishing town off the north coast of Peru. The condominium is conveniently situated between the main town to the north and an expansive stretch of beautiful beach hotels and unique restaurants to the south. The house sits on the northernmost corner of the condominium and has undisturbed views of the Pacific Ocean. There are delicious restaurants, bars, night life, and local markets within walking distance from the property.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The house was designed with privacy in mind, while also creating spaces for family gatherings. There are 5 independent bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. Three of these bedrooms have king-sized beds, the remaining two bedrooms have bunk beds. There are three common areas for mingling. The main mingling area seamlessly connects to the open kitchen, dining area, and infinity pool. In addition, there is a separate smaller outdoor lounging area with a jacuzzi, and a comfortable indoor entertainment room with a flat screen television and DVD player. The kitchen comes fully equipped.
ROOMS:
There is a large second-floor bedroom with a king bed and a private balcony and deck overlooking the ocean. This room is air conditioned and has its own full bathroom. Two of the bedrooms in the ground floor are each equipped with a king size bed and a single size bed, each with it's own full bathroom and AC as well. The remaining two rooms on the ground floor have three sets of bunk beds (some with queen size beds), and each room has its own full bathroom. There are no televisions in any of the rooms.
AMENITIES:
There is an outdoor sound system that allows bluetooth connection from your phone. We have several movies on DVD available for guests. There is also plenty of desk space in the entertainment room, overlooking the ocean. We have the best wifi internet connection available in Mancora. Other amenities include a grill, a large surfboard rack, and a full laundry room. The house has a jacuzzi.
FOOD:
The northern Peruvian coast offers the most emblematic seafood in the country. There are several delicious restaurants in the area, and you will also have full access to the house kitchen if you prefer to prepare your own meals. However, all rentals include a cook who prepares three meals per day. Guests cover the cost of food ingredients and the cook does all the necessary shopping (with receipts provided). The cook leaves at 6pm. If guests wish to have the cook stay longer, you must pay her $10 extra per evening.
HOUSEKEEPING:
All bookings include full maid services that take care of house cleaning (including rooms) and also do the laundry. We also take care of keeping the pool and jacuzzi clean during your stay. We ask that you shower before using the pool and jacuzzi in the outdoor shower.
THINGS TO DO:
The north coast of Peru is a surfer's paradise. Aside from Mancora's amazing point break and Punta Ballenas shore break (both walking distance from the house), there are several well-known breaks nearby, including Organos, Cabo Blanco, and Lobitos. There are several bus services that take you to any of these breaks. If surfing is not your thing, a short walk from the house you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, or kite boards, or you can take surfing lessons. There are whale watching tours, scuba diving or snorkeling expeditions, and even opportunities to dive with turtles. There are many other outdoor experiences available in the area. Let us know your interests and we will make specific recommendations and can also help you plan these events.
HOW TO GET HERE:
From the capital city of Lima we recommend you fly to Talara or Tumbes, but preferably Talara. We are happy to arrange a pick up for you from any of these airports (you pay the driver directly). From Talara it's only about a 45 minute drive to the house. You can also reach Mancora from Lima via bus or car, but we recommend flying.
