To start off, I sent off several emails asking about the number of stairs to the apt. It is listed as 3.5 floor. There was no communication from him. It is actually on the 5th floor. A significant difference for me and a false representation in the ad. Secondly, the initial confirmation had the wrong address and wrong phone number. It was rented for my daughter, granddaughter, my husband and myself. There was only one washcloth, and no hand soap in the bathroom. I am use to having a book or some resource for the TV, air conditioner/heater, but there was none of that. It was expected that we leave the place the way we found it, yet there was no broom. A text was sent to the contact we had, but I never received a response. I give the owner a poor rating on his communication, representation of the apartment, and willing to work with the renters.

My daughter and parents were headed to New York for a week. We e-mailed for 3 months over details and then confirmed the reservation on Jan 12th. My mother paid in full at this point. The week before leaving, I received a 7-page e-mail instructing me to read the “house rules” and sign at the bottom. I read the rules, signed the paper and sent it back.

I arrived at the address, printed from the confirmation in January to find the apartment did not exist. I contacted the numbers and there was no response. I contacted my mom hours later to say this did not exist and I am booking a hotel for myself till we figure out what to do. I was certain that we had been scammed. The hotel gave me a break and I paid $207 for the night.

My mother realized that the address was different on the house rule agreement and the confirmation page that I had. On the first of seven pages the address and phone were different but not pointed out at all. This after months of correspondence.

A woman named Andrea let us into the apartment. I asked to receive $200 dollars for the hotel room for their part in this situation. She told me she would get back to me, she didn’t. We called her and got a man named Eran. His name is nowhere on the contract but I was told he would be the one to contact about the hotel reimbursement. He refused to give me any compensation. He bragged about owning 90 apartments and insulted me by referring to me as a hick from Alaska. He would not address the address change. He was rude, insulting and took no responsibility in the whole incident. His refusal to give any reimbursement was also insulting.

Do not rent from these people. The contact name is Roy but we never had any contact with a Roy. If any issue comes up they are unavailable, they make it clear that they have enough business to not worry about yours. They don’t follow through and have terrible communication.

I have used VRBO numerous times and it has always been wonderful. When you rent this place it connects you to Travelmob which doesn’t seem as good as VRBO. There are so many other choices at this price range I would use another rental.
