About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Limit 6 Guests Reservation & No Party)

(Free 2 kayaks to use/Strict 6 guests limit)-The perfect waterfront home on Hood Canal awaits your visit. You will be blown away by the view you'll see of the beautiful canal through floor to ceiling windows when you walk in the front door and look past the kitchen to the living room and the water beyond. Come, sit by the fireplace and just relax, while enjoying watching eagles fly by or sea lions and seals and an occasional whale frolic in the water. Or perhaps you’d rather set out to scuba dive for octopus just 150 yards from the house, swim, hike, mountain bike, stroll the beach, fish, and crabbing just in front of the house. At the end of your day, grab some marshmallows and roast them in our fire pit, just a couple feet from the edge of the water and also enjoying a beautiful sunset while cozying up to the fire.

The kitchen includes a breakfast bar and dining area. It opens into the dining room and living room where we promise you will never get tired of the incredible view of the water. Sunrises are gorgeous and sitting out on one of the two oversized decks at night looking at the full moon’s reflection on the water is a great way to relax at the end of your day.

The living room has a fireplace and plenty of space for family gatherings and activities. Downstairs in the first floor is a ping pong table, air hockey, 2 person shooting basketball game, Gamecube, darts, and kids can have their own space for games, and plenty of room to store your fishing poles, crab trap or treasures you find on the beach.

Our kitchen is fully stocked and our dining area with a table that seats six, or enjoy eating outside on

one of our two decks while enjoying the view.

If you prefer to not cook, The Halfway House nearby is famous for excellent home cooking and homemade pies. Esquire magazine recently chose the nearby Geoduck Restaurant and Tavern #2 for “Best Bar in America,” and Pleasant Harbor Marina, just up the road, offers superb pizza and sandwiches.

The home offers four bedrooms, two upstairs and one on the main floor, and two full baths. One bedroom has a Queen-sized bed with night tables, a dresser and closet. Another has two bunk beds and a closet, the third has a queen bed and armoire, the fourth bedroom has a full size bed.

Bring your fishing poles and check out the many rivers that flow into Hood Canal.

Nearby Dosewallips State Park, with acres of clams and oysters and geoduck, is also a great place to beach comb at low tide. Brinnon is a hiker’s paradise and there are spectacular trails and breathtaking waterfalls in Brinnon or in the nearby Olympic National Park. Or check out the great mountain biking trails. Divers can see several species of rockfish, octopus and all sorts of crabs in one of the best diving locations in the Northwest, and diving gear can be rented close by. A little further down the road is Mount Walker. A short drive up the mountain at the scenic view area, you will be blown away by the spectacular views of the Olympic Mountain range and turn your head back east and see the City of Seattle skyline. According to our guests, our house on the edge of the Olympic National Park is an ideal location as a base for their adventures to explore the park. Olympic National Park covers 922,651 acres of three distinct habitat zones, the alpine region, the coastline and the temperate rain forest. At 1,441 square miles, the park is larger than Rhode Island(1,214 square miles). In 1976, the park was named an International Biosphere Reserve by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, the park was made a World Heritage Site by the World Heritage Convention.

Come to our home on Hood Canal and make memories that will last you a lifetime!

Beautiful view, spacious house

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at your lovely house for Girl's Weekend Out! Lots of room for everyone, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful view of Hood canal. Appreciated the vast selection of DVDs. We hiked at Dosewallips State Park and had a lovely oyster and clam lunch at Hama Hama Oyster Saloon on Saturday. Highly recommend.

Great location on Hood Canal

  • 5 of 5

The A-frame window and easily accessed decks make this house wonderful, as is the fire pit next to the cove, and the private beach. In May, we had up to 7 eagles per day fishing, greeting each other, and resting in nearby trees. The eagles disappeared for a couple of days over Memorial Day weekend. The property has a spectacular view south down Hood Canal, and is surrounded by firs and cedars. Although the bathrooms are dated and basic, the open floor plan, decks and location make this an amazing house to experience. Lou was extremely helpful and responsive when the pump broke that supplies water to the houses on the private street. He went above and beyond to repair the pump the same day.

Unbelievable views. Water all to ourselves.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time during our stay. The home is central to some really cool waterfalls and Dosewallips Park where you can dig for clams and oysters. We awoke in the morning with coffee in hand and sat outside on the expansive deck to watch at least 15 bald and golden eagles fly by and swoop down to catch fish. Amazing! We also saw seals when we took the two kayaks out. At night we made a fire in the fire pit by the water and had oysters and crabs for dinner. Thank you for the use of your lovely home, we wish we could have stayed longer, but would definitely come back and stay at this house again.

This home is incredibly beautiful. The entire stay we couldn’t believe all of the beauty surrounding

  • 5 of 5

upon Walking into this home we were blown away by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. There was a group of bald eagles who hung out right by the deck. We enjoyed watching them during our stay. At one time we counted 6 eagles in the trees. We watched sea otters swim, went tide pooling each morning and found amazing sea stars. Our stay was truly magical. The house provided the perfect place to experience the PNW.

The owners went out of their way to make our vacation great. They provided kayaks, hundreds of movies, board games, ping pong, comfortable chairs on the deck.

This property is also far enough from Seattle to feel like your in another world, yet close enough to lots of activities to keep you busy. We visited Olympic National Forest and saw some beautiful waterfalls.

Our vacation and stay here was magical. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your house.

Great location right on the water.

We stayed four nights and never tired of the view. We enjoyed using the kayaks and fire pit and in the evenings enjoyed viewing the extensive DVD movie selection. Many great day hikes were available a very short drive away. We definitely hope to return in the future...

Great Family Space!

  • 4 of 5

Lots of room with lots of activities with a gorgeous view! Our family of 5 (includes three young adult kids) found the perfect place to stay to do our Olympic National Park exploring. We awoke to resident eagles, which included an adolescent eagle, swirling and swooping into the Hood Canal literally right in front of the house, with a couple of ravens trying to steal the fish right out from the eagles' talons. What a sight! So many things to do right at the house, with indoor activities such as ping pong & hoops, and outdoor (which is the best), like kayaking, sitting around a campfire or sitting on either of the two decks (my favorite was the really large lower deck that had the pine tree growing up in the middle of it, with the lower branches cut off so it was a pine tree canopy!), amazing to watch the resident eagles! There was even an otter in the Canal that was so cute! Everything was clean, even though there was a miscommunication between the owner and the cleaning crew, that the cleaning crew didn't know they needed to be there to get it ready for us. We arrived and it hadn't been cleaned, but the owner was right on it and got them there quickly; we waited by relaxing on the deck while two of the kids kayaked, during the cleaning. The lady in charge had two helpers with her, so it was done quickly and efficiently. She even asked me to walk around to make sure it was done to my liking. Perfect. The owner was very apologetic, and I know these things happen; we're all human, after all. Compensation was offered by the owner, which we greatly appreciated. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Of the four places we stayed on our trip to Washington, my kids stated that this one was their favorite.
