Wild Horse Station is a picturesque log guest lodge nestled in the majestic rain forest of the Cascade Mountain Range in Southwest Washington State. It is beautifully landscaped with a pond and stream and fantastic mountain views of Mount Saint Helens and the Cascade Range.
This superbly furnished and maintained log home with 73 acres of lushly wooded trails is configured for the benefit of discerning adults and older children.
Wild Horse Lodge is easily accessible just a quick 45 minute drive northeast of the Portland, Oregon International Airport and 20 miles east of Interstate 5 just outside the historic logging town of Yacolt.
Known locally as "Wild Horse Station", our lodge is a pristine example of a Northwest log home and an integral component of Mustang Mountain Guest Horse Ranch offering first class accommodations suitable equally for equestrians and non-equestrians alike. Experience the breathtaking, majestic vistas of our snow-capped Mount Saint Helens to the north while relaxing in the hot tub on the private balcony off the master suite. Equally impressive are views to the east of the Silver Star Peaks while enjoying an intimate BBQ on the deck off the large dining room. Or maybe just relaxing on the front deck bench suits your fancy in the shadow of stunning, forested Bells Mountain towering just across the east fork of the Lewis River valley to the south. To the west you will likely see the horses grazing in the ranch pastures nestled up against Mustang Mountain. This sense of peace and tranquility cannot be overstated.
For those looking for a more active experience; not to worry! For the Equestrians among you, we have all the amenities. On your horse, well lit indoor arena is second to none with perfect footing and 14 stalls with attached paddocks (fee associated with this). Want your steeds nearby? No problem. We have a small paddock on the north side of Wild Horse lodge just across from the lovely Koi pond, observable through the floor to ceiling windows of the great room and loft. We, of course, have a heated and ventilated, well lit tack room conveniently located near the paddock and tack up area.
For those more interested in a non-horse experience, the mountain trails on the ranch and nearby state lands off the ranch are easily accessible and offer casual strolls through the forest and along the river or demanding mountain bike trails with steep grades and challenging switch backs. The east fork of the Lewis River, a wild and fast flowing mountain stream with water falls during the spring runoff is a favorite for extreme kayakers and fly fishermen during the steelhead season. Conversely, in midsummer, the river becomes a slow moving stream with beautiful waterfalls and favorite local swimming lagoon at the base of the falls in the Moulton Falls County Park just off the ranch's southern boundary.
