Close to perfect
We were only here two nights and would have loved to have stayed longer. Only 2 problems: one, they didn’t provide a key to the apartment. It was so remote, we didn’t really care. But two, on our second night, there was a huge party with a lot of strangers. Children were running all over, very excitedly exploring our hot tub, our car, our private door. We had to keep reminding them they had their own areas. But if we’d had a key, we could have just locked it and relaxed. A key is a must in this business and would have allayed a lot of stress.
And our apartment was one hollow core door away from the sound made by those 36 people dining and reuniting. So we texted the owner, asking if there was a time limit to this event. But he never replied despite replying previously. Since we were only scheduled for 2 days, we decided to move on.
There were so many deer! We enjoyed the drive out to the house, the sunsets, the quiet on the first night, the stars, the town of Florissant, and the owners were kind and attentive. We expected more privacy, but we still enjoyed the majority of our stay…minus about 3 hours of a loud group and a happily raucous party.
