Whether you are looking for a winter ski vacation or a mountain summer vacation, your search is over.
Skiing at Big Sky is no less than awesome. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a 'blast the A-Z chutes' double black diamond expert, there are hundreds and hundreds of the ~5,500 acres of skiable terrain for every level. In fact, it is challenging (not possible???) for even the the most accomplished skier to ski the entire mountain in 5 days of the 9 am-4 pm skiing. You can even elect to ski two mountains on one ticket as the adjacent resort, Moonlight Basin, has joined with Big Sky to offer a combined ticket providing you with the 'Biggest Skiing in America' lift ticket. With the combined ticket, you can access 5,532 skiable acres and endless ways to navigate 4,350 feet of vertical drop -- the largest skiable terrain in the US.
The condo is LITERALLY ski in, ski out. No need to eat lunch on the mountain. You ski to the back door, pop off your skis and go in for lunch. Seventy paces to the cat walk, clip on your skis and ski down to the Ram Charger or Swift Current lift and off you go.
At the end of the day, ski to the back door, pop off your skis, place them in the locked ski closet on the back porch, take off your boots, and place them on one of the 8 wall mounted boot dryers and then enter the condo to rest your tired legs!!!
The Big Sky Ski School offers superb lessons (speaking from practical experience), and they have day care facilities as well.
For the non-skier there is snow shoeing, sledding, Zip Line (through the trees or over the Mountain Base area), full spa facilities, fishing, and the list goes on and on.
Also -- for those who have problems with altitude sickness, you sleep at ~7500 ft, which MARKEDLY minimizes-eliminates the symptoms.
Summer time has limitless opportunities for outside activities: hiking, downhill-cross country biking (best yet -- the bikes and you ASCEND on the ski lift !!!!), the ropes course, through the trees zipline or try the zipline over the base of the Mountain Village area, horseback riding, rafting, fly fishing and the list goes on and on. Most summer visitors spend at least 1-2 days visiting Yellowstone by day trip (we are an hour north of the West Entrance).
AN OVERVIEW OF OUR HOME:
Our home has 4 bedrooms that easily accommodates two families.
It is on three levels with a bath on each level (two baths on the lower level).
The lower level has three bedrooms: Queen, Queen and Twin, and a bunk room with a full size lower mattress and an upper twin mattress.
The second level is the living room, dining area, kitchen, 1/2+ bath and the laundry. The kitchen has every utensil and pot and pan you will need.
The third level is the master suite - queen plus 1/2+ bath.
For convenience, shop at Albertson's in Belgrade on the way up the mountain. You can fax them your grocery list, and it will be packed and ready when you arrive at the store.
Even if you are not a meat eater, be sure to try Montana Bison and anything with Huckleberries in it. Great restaurants are within walking distance. Our favorite is The Cabin -- literally 40 steps from the front door.
Big Sky hosts many conferences each year. If you want to combine business and pleasure as well as bring the family, we are walking distance (~125 -150 yards) to the conference center.
