Welcome to our little slice of Paradise for a vacation you are sure to remember for years to come. Grab your camera and a cup of coffee, step outside this cozy Getaway and enjoy the majestic views and search for any of the many animals that frequent this Paradise Valley gem! This unique rental attracts honeymooners each year because they love the quiet, privacy and seclusion in addition to the cozy atmosphere inside.
The Northwest entrance to Yellowstone National Park is now open for visitor traffic. It is no longer closed from the June, 2022 flooding event. Our location is and was high and dry during the flood that affected the park and surrounding area.
The view from the den frames Emigrant Peak's 10,915 feet of beauty as it rises in the distance and provides the perfect setting for sunset with a view of the mountains. Eight Mile Creek runs through our location and attracts bald eagles in early spring and osprey which hunt the creek for fish. Once you settle in, take a stroll to the creek and dip your feet into the creek or sit and read to the music of rippling water. Children love to play in the cool refreshing water in late summer. You can oftentimes see pronghorn antelope grazing on the bluffs across the road and mule and whitetail deer frequent the property.
A private, sheltered barbeque and outdoor dining area give you views of the mountains surrounding the property where you can share memories of the day's events or enjoy the amazing night sky. We have had many travelers who have told us what a find this place was, not only for the location but for the price. One couple even called it a 'diamond in the rough.'
Mountain View Getaway is centrally located in Paradise Valley, just one mile from the Yellowstone River, famed for fly fishing and scenic and whitewater rafting. Horseback riding can be arranged at nearby ranches. There are many hiking trails in the valley as well as in the park. This superb location is 30 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, 20 miles south of the town of Livingston, and two miles north of the little town of Emigrant, Montana. It is also 10 minutes from Chico Hot Springs Resort, Sage Lodge and several restaurants, including the Old Saloon, which hosts music festivals, especially in the summer and fall. Music Mountain, another popular music venue, is 15 minutes away as well.
The rental is on the second floor of a decorative barn, which never housed animals. It is located on Old Yellowstone Trail North, which was originally cited as a buffalo trail, then Trail Creek Road, and then under the current name because it served as the stagecoach trail to Yellowstone National Park after the park opened and before a railroad spur was built to the park.
Emigrant Peak is framed by the living room window where you can sit and relax after an adventurous day in nearby Yellowstone National Park. The cabin's theme is wildlife: moose, deer, bighorn sheep and bison adorn the walls and linens. The large private bedroom has a queen-size bed and huge closet and the living room couch easily folds out into a comfy queen size sleeper. The full kitchen and bath have everything you need to make your stay feel just like home, including a washer and dryer. Most guests enjoy the cozy feel of the cabin and extra special personal touches provided by these owners who will do everything possible to please their guests! You won't be disappointed.
The biggest attraction, Yellowstone National Park is a beautiful 34-mile drive from the cabin. The drive follows the Yellowstone River and places you at Roosevelt Arch, the northwest entrance into Yellowstone National Park. While traveling, you will likely see more wildlife not to mention the majestic peaks of the Absaroka/Beartooth mountain range to the east and the Gallatin range to the west.
Within 5 miles of the cabin is Chico Hot Springs, which is a year-round resort with two hot springs pools, an exquisite dining room and a family friendly grille. At night, the Saloon hosts various local bands featuring a mixture of genre to satisfy your musical choice. Yellowstone River, a short mile away, boasts some of the best fishing for rainbow trout. Or, if you like, you can float the river either by boat, raft or tube! The mountains in Paradise Valley have numerous hiking trails -- but don't forget your bear spray! Paradise Valley offers many adventures and Mountain View Getaway is located right in the middle of all it has to offer. Paradise awaits!
