About this property

There is No Ocean View Like it. Victoria Only 30 Minutes Away.

When my husband Bob and I purchased this property 13 years ago, we knew it was just too beautiful not to share. The ocean and mountain vistas are like no other. The most common comment we receive is 'Wow, what a million dollar view'.

We are situated on seven acres set in a private and peaceful setting. Our home is truly a great place to relax and enjoy the amazing views from the hot tub or gazebo on your private deck accessible from your private room entrance. Enjoy the spacious bathroom equipped with towels, misc. bath needs and comfy bath robes. Enjoy breakfast at your leisure in your room where fresh fruit, coffee, tea, ham or Canadian back bacon, eggs, cheese, homemade bread and preserves are provided for you to prepare at your leisure.

This is much more than a bed and breakfast. Many of our guest choose to treat it as a destination, taking time to relax and wind down. The gazebo and hot tub are yours to use exclusively during your visit. There is a BBQ provided which has been very popular. Your dishes are whisked away from behind the magic door (you have to check in for the rest of that story) and returned dishwasher cleaned.

If you choose to venture out, there are several hiking trails, wineries, fabulous restaurants, lakes and ocean beaches close by including the spectacular Malahat Sky Walk just 1.5 kilometers south. Mill Bay (about 5 minutes north) has shops, liquor store, Thrifty foods, Pharmasave and many other amenities.

We have been I operation since 2011 and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences ever and are humbled by our 5 star rating!

We stayed at Char place for our post wedding mini moon! It was so relaxing oasis! The room was clean the hot tub was so nice to sit in! And the fire place was amazing! We loved the home made bread! Thank you Char for letting us stay

Perfect getaway for a relaxing g weekend
We wanted to go somewhere to just relax and wind down. This was the perfect spot for it! From the private hot tub to the sheltered outdoor area with loungers and a heater for those chilly nights, we were able to do just this whilst overlooking the most amazing view just footages from our suite. We will definitely be returning to stay here in the future.

Serenity and sunrises
This was everything we could have asked for for our 3-night stay. Watching the sunrise from either comfy king-size bed or private cabana or hottub - cannot ask for a better start to a day. Although located on the busy Malahat, it is easy to get to and from, centrally located for daytrips to wineries, golf and nature. The generous host Char is a rockstar, and the food provided was (almost) too plentiful, but we managed to consume it all. I think, we will be back.

Bob and I have been married for 50 years (as of December 2021), have three beautiful daughters and six perfect grand babies and our special golden doodle, Bella. We are fitness nuts, love to golf (but don't seem to get time) and love to entertain. Over the years we have made several friends thru the Rotary exchange program and enjoy their frequent visits back to Canada and our trips overseas to see them.

Why they chose this property

Employment opportunities brought us to Vancouver Island from Prince George BC where we pretty much grew up (together) and raised our lovely family. We bought this piece of property three years after moving to the Island. We wanted to get out of the of the city. When we purchased this home, it needed a lot of work...that is an understatement!!. We did it! We love it! We know you will love it as well!

What makes this property unique

More than anything, we enjoy sharing our view. It is hard to take your eyes off of the amazing sights of all the activity going on around us. Boating and fishing below, planes coming and going from the Victoria airport off in the distance, watching the cruise ships, BC ferries and the wildlife. Many of our guests decide to just stay put here and enjoy the majestic experience. Many of our past guest have described our place as a destination rather than just a place to rest your head.
