Our annual family lake week
We had a lovely week at Lake Nubanusit! The water is beautiful, the house is spacious and comfortable for an extended family group and the town of Hancock is peaceful and charming. We enjoyed days of swimming, paddling and tubing for the kids and also had a wonderful hike at the nearby Harris Center.

Beautiful place
My family has been coming to this house on beautiful Lake Nuanusit for many years. it's a terrific house - comfortable, spacious, and a terrific location, with lots of great running and biking options, in addition to swimming, kayaking and canoing on the lake. The house is as advertised, with plenty of amenities.

Lake Nubanusit
First time @ this property and was very pleased with the location and accomodations! Comfortable, roomy home with lots of space for everyone to hang out. Plenty of windows to let in the light and see the lake. Kayaks & canoe with life jackets available a big plus! Grandson loved the small beach & toys. Dogs loved the place as well. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

About the host

Hosted by Kathryn Hulick

Host profile image
The Hulick family has been coming to Lake Nubanusit since Sunnie and Charlie Hulick purchased the property in 1970 as their retirement home and a place for family vacations. Charlie was in the foreign service, and they moved from France to Germany and back to the States as their son David and daughter Diana grew up. You can still find reminders of their international travel in the house if you look around! Now, David resides in a small NH town just 30 minutes away from Lake Nubanusit. His children and grandchildren get together every year during the summer to enjoy the lake.

What makes this property unique

Lake Nubanusit is a well-kept secret. Most people in New England have never heard of it -- and instead travel to the lakes region farther north. Since most the lake shoreline is a nature preserve, you won't find very many other people out on the lake most days. Also, the lake has exceptional water quality with 50 foot visibility and a rocky, sandy bottom. A pair of nesting bald eagles has called the lake home for about ten years, and if you're lucky you'll see them circling overhead or even catching fish.

One of our favorite things to do at the lake house towards the end of the summer is to kayak or canoe across to the nature preserve and pick blueberries. You won't believe how big and juicy those wild blueberries get! We also love hiking mount monadnock, or visiting the shops in nearby peterborough, nh.
