Mary and Michael's cottage exceeded or expectations! It was quiet, on a beautiful estate, close enough to both Victoria and Sidney to make for fun filled days and only steps to a private cove.
Just like home....
Thanks Mary for such a lovely cottage for us to make our home in for a week. It had everything we needed and more. Such a beautiful spot. We definitely plan on coming back!!
It was a pleasure having you. Despite the smoke from the forest fires, the weather was warm and the nights cool. Do come again and enjoy our garden.
Fantastic and we love it. Nice area!
Lovely host and beautiful little cottage. We will definitely come back again on out next visit.
We will welcome you again for a week of summer sunshine. Thank you for leaving our cottage so beautifully tidy. Guests like you are a delight.
This cottage is special. Small and cozy, very clean and charming. The view of the garden is amazing. You can see some wildlife from the sitting area. In the owner's description of the cottage, they do mention that the beautiful red couch is not very comfortable and they are right. We enjoy watching the news morning and night so a comfortable couch is very important. Mary was very responsive to any questions we had and a wonderful host.
The huge red sofa is a gorgeous antique and full of charm but perhaps the time has come to have a separate cushion made. We do have two very comfortable wing back chairs as well. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit.
The property is as dreamy as it looks and way more!!!!
We loved the atmosphere! The decor is lovely, just wished the couch was comfortable. Was hard to cuddle up to a book for the day. The bed was very comfortable! All of our hopes for this dream vacation were met. I would have to say that the most impressive joy was meeting the homeowners and getting to know them a bit. We thouroughly enjoyed our time of refreshing! Victoria is stunning! The climate is like that if CA in the states. The views, flowers, and town were everything we hoped for! Highly highly recommend!
That's the kind of review we love to see. You, were a breath of fresh air seeing Victoria for the first time. We enjoyed having you. Yes, the antique chesterfield is not the most comfortable but it is such an old dear (1890's) that I cannot bear to modernize. Fortunately the wing chairs are very comfortable for reading and watching television.
Come again soon.
Charming, Peaceful, and All the Comforts
We loved every minute of our stay at the beautiful 'Sunrise Cottage'. It was welcoming and comfortable, private and very charming. I especially enjoyed the beautiful little garden that's connected to the cottage patio. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and I appreciated their willingness to accommodate the requests we made about the beds.
I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quieter place in Victoria - that's still pretty close to town.
Looking forward to our next visit!
We were delighted to welcome you and your son to Sunrise Garden Cottage. And yes, we were able to separate the large King to two twins for your stay. Please do come again.
Although only 15-20 minutes to downtown Victoria, the heritage cottage is near a secluded cove that is a haven for wild ducks, geese, eagles, oyster catchers and herons. A lovely garden of perennials, annuals and shrubs is surrounded by an ancient English Laurel hedge for absolute privacy.
