This is one of two prime located Saddle Ridge units, just one door apart from each other (rent both if you are a large group or come with another family) collectively known as Casa Moonlight, Big Sky, Montana, Ski Resort

This Montana vacation rental is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Ski right out the back door and onto the Pony Express Run or to the Iron Horse Lift and you have access to over 5,250 lift-served acres of world-class alpine skiing.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Moonlight is directly above the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available .

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

There are slate floors in the entry, bathrooms and kitchen. The vacation rental custom furniture is made out of Ponderosa Pine. This Montana condo is filled with unique western art, but the unforgettable views from all the rooms, make this vacation home a place to remember.

My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

Why William Casa Moonlight chose Saddle Ridge

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for another property investment.

What makes this townhome unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight - and just one minutes walk from the best restaurant (Timbers) and ski-club house (Moonlight Lodge) in the Big Sky area.

I liked the property improvements from our last stay in 2010, including the bunk beds and queen in the 2nd level. The flat screen TVs are a great addition and we rented 3 blu-ray movies from the village.

We could have done with some more snow, but all in all it was a great trip.

Oops on the reading glasses, those are probably mine (silver aluminum rimless reading glasses?). If you could mail them?

perfect location for a ski trip!

Casa Moonlight exceed our expectations.. it is beautiful 2 bedroom condo with an amazing view of Big Sky. In the morning, it is a short walk to the Iron Horse lift and an easy ski over to the Big Sky base. We really enjoyed using the well appointed kitchen as well as relaxing in the living room. The bedrooms are large, clean and comfortable. We can't wait to return! Thank you.

We had a fantastic stay. Location was excellent (it helped that they allowed us to sign up as guests at the Moonlight Lodge and use their services). We had everything we needed and the ski in/ski out worked great (30 yard walk to the best drop in point, but skied in to the door). Beds were very comfortable to us (saw a review that someone complained about them) - fairly firm).

Only constructive criticism would be to put in some real light blocking blinds in both the basement bedroom and loft. It was pretty bright in there if one tries to sleep past 6 or 7 am.

Great ski in/out family getaway

We stayed over Spring Break. We come to Montana every year to ski and enjoy family time. We have stayed in other Saddle Ridge condos before as well. The owner/rental management company were super friendly and easy to work with. We only had to call Chris once and he were very helpful and accommodating (hot tub had gone out and we couldn't locate the breaker box to reset it).

Layout of the condo:

You have technically 2 designated parking spaces for your condo. It's easy to get to. We only needed one space, so had plenty of room. Ground floor has an tiled entry way, 2 coat closets, several hooks for your ski stuff and a powder room.

Up one small flight of stairs, you hit the main living area. Large living room with fireplace, TV, kitchen, dining table (seats 6), bar to eat at (3 bar stools) and comfortable living room seating for 7. We spent a lot of time here. Kitchen is well equipped, even has a rice cooker and crock pot, waffle maker. As a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids, ages 7-13), we ate every meal at our condo and had everything we needed. We shopped for groceries in Belgrade after landing at the airport and didn't need to get anything else food-wise. Ample storage for food in pantry/fridge/freezer area. VERY CLEAN. LOVED that there were plenty of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, tissue) and soap (dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry supplies), and trash bags - this was incredibly convenient. Condo was very clean and well kept, nicely decorated. The extra beds they have are nice cots in the lower closet, but we didn't need to use them. Extra bedding available as well.

Lower floor had laundry room and master bedroom with bathroom and exit to porch/hot tub. We used the hot tub almost every night. We used the queen bed. Didn't need the sofa bed.

Upper floor had a full bathroom, queen bed and set of bunk beds. All bedrooms had humidifiers - thank you! There is also an outdoor grill on the main patio, but we didn't need it. All bathrooms had hair dryers and hotel sized shampoo/conditioner/small bar soap.

To ski - we carried our equipment maybe 75ft to the lodge and skied to the Pony Express lift. Not far at all - all of our kids could do it easily. We came home the same way, but skied to the condo as it was downhill ;-)

We would definitely stay here again. Our family had a wonderful, relaxing time. Case Moonlight One was great. Thanks for sharing your incredible place with us.

The place was great and you can't beat the location and the view. If I were the owner, the one thing I would change is putting in zone heating. Having all the heat controlled by one thermostat was not optimal. Other than that it was all really good.

Fantastic Location in Beautiful Big Sky!

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautifully appointed townhouse in Moonlight Basin. First off, the owner was extremely attentive and responsive while we were in the booking process. He provided us with all of the necessary information that we needed to plan our trip (this was our first trip to Montana). The town house was well appointed, everything we needed was in the house when we arrived. Additionally, we were steps from the Iron Horse lift that made getting too the slopes a snap.

If you are considering a trip to Big Sky, definitely put this on your list!
